PKR president Anwar Ibrahim is expected to give his statement to the police today in relation to an audio recording said to feature a conversation between him and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
His lawyer Sankara N. Nair confirmed that Anwar had an appointment with the police at their Bukit Aman headquarters.
“Based on the letter given to Anwar, he’s being investigated under Section 505(b) and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," he said.
For the record, Section 505(b) of the penal code deals with statements related to public mischief.
Both Anwar and Zahid denied the voices heard in the conversation were theirs.
