How to curb Mucormycosis? Chandigarh PGIMER Director suggests measures

Chandigarh PGIMER Director Doctor Jagat Ram on May 22 suggested measures to prevent Mucormycosis (black fungus) as cases rise in parts of India. “Diabetic control of the patients is very necessary and if they are on the high doses of steroids then doctors have to reduce the amount of it. For the treatment of infection, Anti fungal Liposomal amphotericin B is being given for 3 to 4 weeks,” said Dr Ram.
