This is the Nandi Mountain in Baghuapalli village under Bhapur block of Nayagarh district. A colossal temple gracefully stands on this mountain. After 12 years of hard work of the villagers, this sacred Baba Akhandala Mani Temple has come to life. Specialised craftsmen from Puri lent their artistic touches to the construction of this temple.
Years of effort, labour and dedication is the reason why tourists throng this place in huge numbers to witness its mesmerising beauty.
This Nandi Mountain was once a dense forest area. The faith of the locals in sacredness of the mountain motivated them towards building the Shiva Temple. But carving the mountain was not the only obstacle for these locals.
It was nearly impossible for the workers to carry construction materials to the top of the mountain. The locals then decided to clear the stones and forest to construct the temple.
