Cape York town of Weipa wants break away from Rio Tinto

The leaders of a Cape York community say it’s time for their town to break away from the mining company that set it up. Weipa was established as a bauxite mining town in the 1960s and is still run by Rio Tinto – but local business owners and residents want to determine their own future.
