The Gambling, Gaming and Betting Bill was passed in the Senate this evening but without the support of the six Opposition Senators who abstained.

Before the passage of the bill, however, one Opposition Senator said the legislation could result in $250 million in losses in revenue to the State.

The Finance Minister said the State stands to gain $500 million from a sector that makes $16 billion dollars.
