Roma Abdesselam has racked up almost 600,000 followers on TikTok and more than 50,000 followers on Instagram by sharing her luxury lifestyle. Better known as @therealsahd, New York-based Roma unashamedly flaunts her glamorous life which includes regular ‘caviar facials’ and weekly trips to the Hamptons. Roma told Truly: “A stay-at-home daughter is every girl that doesn't have a job, doesn't go to school, and lives off her parents. In terms of luxurious things I like to do, it’s hard to say because you guys see things as luxury but I see them as every-day.“ Roma’s “stay-at-home” lifestyle involves daily trips to the spa and attending influencer events around Manhattan. Her shoe and bag collection alone is worth around $300,000 dollars and she regularly jet sets to exotic locations on a whim. As she put it in one of her Instagram videos: “I woke up to 323 missed calls from my ex-boyfriend which gave me anxiety, so I decided to go to the Bahamas.” And while Roma’s social media may seem like a shrine to materialism, she actually aims to use her platform to almost deconstruct the idea of the ‘influencer’. Roma created the stay-at-home daughter accounts to simultaneously showcase a typical influencer lifestyle while being open about the behind-the-scenes efforts that go into maintaining that lifestyle.
