On Tuesday, sudden incessant rainfall in parts of the twin cities of Odisha threw normal life out of gear. The heavy downpour resulted in water logging at several low-lying areas in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
In the smart city Bhubaneswar, the road near ISKCON, and some places in Nayapalli and Acharya Vihar remained submerged in water for hours, disrupting human and vehicular movement in the areas. While several vehicles parked in these areas were submerged in the flash flood, locals have alleged poor drainage system and lack of preparedness as the cause of never-ending water logging problem. However, no comments could be obtained from the civic body authorities.
