Airport is a 1970 American air disaster–drama film written and directed by George Seaton and starring Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin.
Plot - On the Chicago-Rome flight there is a man, desperate and covered in debt, who intends to blow up the plane so that his wife can collect the life insurance taken out at the airport. Commander Demerest tries to dissuade him and almost succeeds, but a clumsy passenger causes the negotiation to degenerate and the man locks himself in the toilet by blowing himself up. Fortunately, the explosion occurs in the tail of the plane, thus limiting the damage to the rear area. But the resulting decompression sucks the bomber out of the plane, a stewardess is seriously injured and some passengers suffer bruises. The crew keeps a cool head and manages to bring the damaged plane back to Chicago by landing despite a snowstorm using a runway, unusable due to a blocked plane, freed at the last moment by ground personnel.
