Meet the Philippines’ first Olympic medalist:

Teófilo Yldefonso

He won bronze at the 1928 Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands where he participated in the 200-meter breaststroke.

He also won another bronze at the 1932 Olympics held in Los Angeles California, USA.

Teodoro is known as “The Father of Modern Breaststroke” by transforming the way the stroke was swum.

He is currently a hall-of-famer pioneer at the Swimming World Magazine.
