Unseasonably heavy rain dampens this season’s cherry harvest

Cherry growers are warning that consumers may have to pay more for the fruit this Christmas, as unseasonably heavy and widespread rain wreaks havoc in several growing regions. Too much rain while cherries are ripening can cause the fruit to split and crack, making the crop not worth picking.
