Artist Makes Kinetic Balancing Structures
This artist who also happened to be a lover of physics created two kinetic balancing sculptures out of stainless steel. The sculptures can go on moving on their own for a stipulated amount of time after being given the initial push and were truly works of art, mixed with science.

00:00Just finished welding these two sculptures. The first one here is called
00:03Swinging Kid for very obvious reasons.
00:10I think he'll balance and swing for about 15 or 20 minutes. This one's called
00:15Rolling Pendulum. I actually made the Swinging Kid after I discovered how this
00:19one balances. It literally rolls on its axis and if you tilt it at the very top
00:24like this and let it go, it will stall at just the right point before doing a
00:30whole 360 degrees. The Rolling Pendulum will go for about an hour.
