Karnataka govt lifts weekend curfew with immediate effect

The Karnataka government has lifted the weekend curfew with immediate effect. Karnataka revenue minister R Ashoka said, "We have taken the opinion of experts and officials. We are withdrawing the Saturday-Sunday weekend curfew." Covid experts had earlier informed the Karnataka government that the worst case scenario for the state is 1 to 1.2 lakh Covid cases a day.
