हाल में संपन्न हुए 5 राज्यों के विधानसभा चुनाव में पार्टी के प्रदर्शन पर कांग्रेस संसदीय रणनीति समूह की बैठक हुई। बैठक के दौरान चुनावी-हार की समीक्षा भी की गई, इसके साथ-साथ देश के अलग-अलग राज्यों में पार्टी की स्थिति बेहतर करने के उपायों पर भी मंथन हुआ। लेकिन इन सबके बीच जो एक विषय खास चर्चा का विषय बना है, वो है कांग्रेस के नए अध्यक्ष का चुनाव, जिसे समय से पहले कराने को लेकर भी मांग हुई। ANI के सूत्रों की मानें, तो इस बैठक में G-23 से जुड़े नेताओं ने मुकुल वासनिक का नाम आगे रखा
