रंगों का त्योहार होली आने वाली है। दो दिन बाद होलिका दहन होगा, जिसमें दोनों होलिकाोत्सव समितियां तीन से चार क्विंटल लकड़ी जलाएंगी। रंगों का यह त्योहार नवाचार के प्रयोगों से भी जुड़ा है। कभी रंग की वजह से तो कभी सभाओं के आयोजन की प्रकृति को लेकर। ऐसे में होलिका दहन के लिए लकड़ी की जगह गाय की लकड़ी के इस्तेमाल को एक नवाचार के तौर पर अपनाया जा सकता है। जलाऊ लकड़ी की तुलना में गोकाष्ठ महंगा नहीं है, लेकिन यह अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से पर्यावरण को लाभ पहुंचाता है।
