Makeup Artist Creates Scary Mummy Look

This makeup artist created a scary mummy look. She made some plastic teeth and placed them on a face mask. Then she did her eye makeup and outlined the bandages. After putting on the fake teeth, the bandages, and the necklace on her head, her mummy look was complete.

00:00So I turned myself into a half gory rank mummy, but then I've got some glam in there.
00:19Considering the eyes took me about two hours, I would definitely consider that being glam.
00:23So if this is something that looks pretty damn good to you, then keep on watching.
00:28So I made my mummy teeth first with polymorph plastic.
00:32I just spread it out onto my little work mat there and then I snipped it into tooth-like
00:40shapes.
00:42These were a little bit sharp and a bit square for me, so then I went ahead and dipped the
00:46end of them into some hot water and moulded that around for a more round tooth kind of
00:52shape.
00:58I then built a mouthpiece onto my face cast.
01:01Oh my god, if you only knew the s**t that I went through.
01:06But I didn't even end up using the mouthpiece.
01:08I made some gums for the teeth to go in, then I took the mouthpiece off the face cast, went
01:14to fit it to my face, it didn't s**t fit, so I had to pull the teeth out and glue them
01:19on individually anyway.
01:21But yep, I just wanted to show you that I went through all this hard work for absolutely
01:27nothing.
01:28But by all means if you guys have a face cast you can definitely do it like this, just don't
01:32reinforce the teeth with hot glue because it made it too stiff so it didn't curve around
01:36my face to stick to.
01:39So yeah, this was a complete waste of my life.
01:50And we're ready for the makeup application.
01:52I used the NYX brow pencil in brown just to give me some fierce mummy eyebrows.
02:07And then I cleaned up the underside with concealer and then I primed my whole eyelid with the
02:12same concealer.
02:13I then set that with the NYX HD Studio powder.
02:22And then I want to create a cut crease like usual, but this time it was in a wing shape.
02:27So I'm just taking the NYX jumbo pencil in black bean to draw out my shape roughly and
02:33then I continue to blend out those edges outwards from the wing.
03:00I then took the Avant Pop eyeshadow palette, I took the black and I just intensified that
03:06line.
03:09It's pretty damn pigmented, woohoo!
03:17I then took the white from the same palette and highlighted my brow bone.
03:22I then took the blue from the same palette and put that on the inside of my brows, between
03:28my brows and my eyes only.
03:33And then I took a concealer on a really thin brush and I just re-concealed that crease
03:40wing area and then I started putting the pigments in.
03:43So I'm just taking the gold pigment from NYX and I'm pressing that into the concealer.
03:47The concealer holds the pigment there fantastic, you don't need any fancy glues or s*** like
03:51that, this does fine.
03:57And I wanted like an ombre kind of rainbow-y effect so then I took the green pigment and
04:02put that next to the yellow, still making sure I have enough wet concealer underneath
04:08the pigments otherwise it won't be as opaque.
04:20I then took this blue teal pigment and put that onto the end of the wing.
04:29And that wing gave myself a liner across my top lash line.
04:34I don't know what liner this was but it was f***.
04:38I struggled so bad just getting it on there.
04:48And then just apply your mascara, and I went in with the NYX Glam Liner, this has like
04:53a little bit of a glitter in there, so it's pretty cool, went good with my glam mummy
04:57feel.
04:58And I just redefined that wing and took the inner corners inwards a bit, and then taking
05:05this teal blue kind of NYX Jumbo Pencil along my waterline, and then applying some Fierce
05:12Lashes.
05:13These ones are Illurimate, they're like pretty full on, which is great, suits me just fine.
05:20And then I took that glam liner again along my lower lash line, and had that inner corner
05:26extension, which is very Egyptian to me.
05:44And once I did that, I took this really dark concealer from NYX as well, I wanted to give
05:48my mummy a bit of a tan, since I am a pale b****.
05:54I'm just applying that around my eyebrows, being careful around my eye detail work,
05:58and then blending that out.
06:00I popped a lighter concealer on the inside inner corner of my eyes, and just blended
06:05that into that other concealer, and then I set that all with the HD Finishing Powder.
06:16I then took that same gold pigment that I used on my eyes onto my high points.
06:25And then went in with the NYX Vivid Brights in Yellow, and just wanted to define that
06:30little artsy inner corner of mine.
06:40I then put this little Egyptian detail under my right eye, so left to you, right to me.
06:49Probably not much point doing this, since I kind of destroyed it with all my extra mummy
06:54work that I did.
06:56I'm going in with the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, just to sketch out my bandages.
07:05And I was relying on the fact that I could put my watercolour over the top of it, so
07:09my water activated paint, and I could still see the bandage stripes through the NYX Jumbo
07:15Pencil.
07:16Yeah, it kind of worked, kind of didn't.
07:19So if you just want to paint yourself white, and then go in with the bandage details, that's
07:22probably a smart idea.
07:24I'm just using a white water activated body paint on a huge paint brush, just to fill
07:30in all of my bandages.
07:33Like I said, you can just see the line work, so just keep the line work until you've painted
07:37yourself white.
07:40And this dries completely, so it's really cool, doesn't smudge, doesn't piss you off,
07:44and then anything I put over the top of this once it's dried will go over perfect.
07:55To redefine those lines, I took this Jumbo Pencil, this was in brown, and see how nice
08:01that's going over the paint, it's so nice, and then I smudged it out with my finger to
08:06give it that dirty, raggy kind of effect.
08:14I didn't have much Jumbo Pencil left after this though, the problem with these, they
08:17are really really creamy, which is a good thing, but you can make your pencil quite
08:22little by the time you've finished using it for a while.
08:41I then took the Avant Pop palette again and put on some yellow, trying to age those bandages,
08:48and then I took a black water activated paint on a thin brush and I redefined those bandages
08:54further, just kind of sharpened them up and created a little bit more dimension.
09:17I then used the brown and black from the Avant Pop palette and I aged the bandages
09:21further and gave some shadows where the bandages would be crossing underneath one another.
09:46And then I took the black and I intensified those shadows further.
09:59And once that was finished, I then painted my entire mouth area with a black water activated
10:03paint and started sticking on those teeth, so can you see it's all smudged there, yeah
10:08so that's where that f***ing disaster happened, I stuck the prosthetic on, didn't fit, ruined
10:13all my work and I had to start again, there's pros aid everywhere, yeah it was just an absolute
10:18mess, this almost didn't make social media, I swear to god.
10:24So I'm sticking these teeth on with a bit of pros aid, letting that dry, goes nice and
10:30tacky and the teeth stick right on.
10:33I suppose doing them individual like this, you are a little bit more free to move your
10:37mouth and yeah, they kind of curve a little bit nicer onto your face.
10:50And then to colour these teeth, I took the NYX, one of their, what is it, concealer palettes,
10:58I took the yellow tone and that goes over polymorph plastic really well, I colour my
11:03teeth with this concealer palette all the time.
11:08I set that with a bit of the HD finishing powder and then took the dark brown from the
11:11same concealer palette and I just darkened the roots of the teeth to give them a nice
11:17decayed look.
11:19And then I took this bandage, cut it into smaller strips so it was easier to work with
11:24and yeah, dipping them into latex and popping them over.
11:27So you see all that hard f***ing bandage work that I did beforehand, so there's no point
11:32in actually doing that because you just cover it with real bandages anyway.
11:36But I like to waste my life with things like this.
11:40And then smooth out those corners with latex, I went in with additional latex just to kind
11:46of smooth it onto my skin and to bring those corners downwards.
11:50And then once that was dried, I then blended it into the rest of my painted bandage work,
11:58so using the exact same colours as what I did on my body.
12:28Here I'm using my splatter brush with a bit of brown body paint and I'm just splattering
12:48brown s*** everywhere and then I'm fixing up my wig and I thought I was finished after
12:55I put my little, that's a necklace that I put on my head, improvisation at it's finest.
13:02And then I remembered I needed contacts, so these are contacts from Coloured Contacts
13:06UK, just white creepy s*** ones where you just do pupil showing and that's it!
13:13Took me ages only because I f***ed so many times, but if you have a right plan, if you
13:19watch this tutorial, you know not what to do, so it shouldn't take you as long as it
13:23took me.
13:24Um, yeah, really cool look for Halloween or any kind of dress up party, or yeah, just
13:30to go grocery shopping, why not?
13:46Alright, thanks for watching guys, thanks for putting up with my s*** once again and
13:51I shall see you in the next tutorial, bye!
