Industry anger after Defence buys $90m second-hand vessel

Local shipbuilders have expressed disappointment a new pacific support vessel has been purchased overseas and not constructed in Australia. The new vessel had been announced in 2018 by then defence minister Chris Pyne. Documents uncovered by the ABC reveal defence officials travelled to the Canary Islands and spent 90 million dollars on the second-hand ship.
