The suicide of a contractor in Karnataka has exposed the state’s rampant corruption. Santhosh Patil, a small-time contractor and BJP worker, had before his death accused Karnataka Minister for Rural Development KS Eshwarappa of asking for a 40% bribe. Karnataka State Contractors Association have been alleging that government officials, MLAs, MPs have been asking for commission to pay their bills.
