But the relationship between IPL and betting is also old. According to the CBI, in IPL 2019, the betting network influenced the matches on the basis of information received from Pakistan. Officials say that the CBI has registered a case against three people for allegedly match-fixing and betting.

देश में क्रिकेट की लोकप्रियता कितनी है, ये किसी को बताने की जरुरत नहीं है. हर साल होने वाले IPL के धूम-धड़ाके की आवाज पूरी दुनिया में गूंजती है. लेकिन IPL और सट्टेबाजी का रिश्ता भी पुराना है. CBI के मुताबिक, IPL 2019 में सट्टेबाजी के नेटवर्क ने पाकिस्तान से मिली सूचनाओं के आधार पर मैचों को प्रभावित किया था. अधिकारियों का कहना है कि, CBI ने कथित तौर पर मैच फिक्सिंग और सट्टेबाजी के इस मामले में तीन लोगों पर केस दर्ज किया है.
