This adorable video shows members of the Danish Royal Life Guard, the unit tasked with personally guarding the royal family, escorting a family of ducks from the grounds of the palace. The original post, by the Danish royal house’s official Instagram page, explains: “A family of ducks had yesterday taken a temporary residence in the garden behind Her Majesty the Queen's Palace. Guards from the Royal Life Guards escorted the animals from the mansion across the castle square and led them to the harbor quay from where they jumped into the water and could safely swim on.” In the video, you can see the ducks strolling through the palace grounds as if they own the place, The group of Royal lifeguards bustle around them, desperately trying to get them out of the Queen’s winter residence. The guards very politely escort them across the road, and to eventual safety in the harbour near the palace. This all scene played out to the chagrin of a gaggle of tourists, laughing delightedly and filming on their smartphones.
