Simba the goat with 19in ears might get Guinness Book Record
A new-born goat could be named a world record holder at just days old after he was born with unusually long ears measuring 19 inches.

Simba the goat, meaning lion in Swahili, was born in Karachi, Pakistan just days ago, but has already become a local celebrity.
The adorable goat is believed to be around two weeks old and his ears are so long they drag on the floor as he walks.

Simba's owner, Muhammad Hassan Narejo, is already fond of Simba and said: 'We hope soon Simba will be a Guinness world record holder.'
He was born on a goat farm in Pakistan's largest city called Nagra Farm.

Goat farming is a very common business in Pakistan - partly because they are suited to the varied terrain.

There are currently no goat holding a Guinness World Records for the longest ears - but there are dogs who hold the same honour.
Simba's long ears are probably the result of a gene mutation or a genetic disorder - but he appears to be getting along just fine.

Goats generally tend to have long ears, but Nubian goats, which is reportedly Simba's breed, have the longest ears of all species.

Goat ears serve a very important purpose as they help to keep them cool in hot temperatures.

In Pakistan temperatures vary due to the varying terrain, but in summer top temperatures can hit 47C.

Luckily for Simba, temperatures tend to be significantly lower than that - but still very hot, regularly reaching mid-thirties in summer
