Hello everyone, Ebyte here.
Today we are going to talk about the ranging artifact - the invisible ultrasound! So the question is, which positioning principle do you think is ultrasound?
An example is sonar, a technology or device that uses the propagation and reflection of sound waves in water for navigation and ranging. Widely used during World War II, sonar is divided into two types: active sonar and passive sonar. Passive sonar is to receive the sound source in the environment, which helps to hide its position, but the sensing accuracy is low; Active sonar is to sense environmental information by actively sounding. Although the accuracy is high, it will reveal its own position.
In consumer electronics, there are also typical applications of ultrasound, such as distance sensors in mobile phones. When making a call, if the handset of the mobile phone is blocked, the screen will be black, and the screen will be bright when the mobile phone is not blocked. The ultrasonic rangefinder is integrated in the MIC, which avoids opening the front of the mobile phone, enhances the integration and realizes the simplicity of the front panel.
