Summering,  which had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, is directed by James Ponsoldt, who co-wrote it with Benjamin Percy. The film stars Lia Barnett, Lake Bell, Sarah Cooper, Ashley Madekwe, Madalen Mills, Megan Mullally, Eden Grace Redfield, and Sanai Victoria.

The film takes place in the last days of summer and centers around four friends Dina, Lola, Daisy, and Mari, who will soon be splitting up when they start middle school. While deciding how to spend their final weekend together, they come across a mystery that leads them on a life-changing adventure. The friends make a series of discoveries that are as much about solving the mystery as they are about learning the hard truths of growing up.

For the past 20 years, James Ponsoldt has been making films, including the award-winning and critically acclaimed The Spectacular Now. The film received a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and was named one of the top ten independent films of the year by the National Board of Review, as well as nominations for the Independent Spirit and Gotham Awards. Other films in the series include The End of the Tour, The, and Smashed. He has directed and produced episodic series such as "Master of None" and "Sorry for Your Loss." Ponsoldt most recently executive produced and directed the pilot and multiple episodes of Amazon's upcoming series "Daisy Jones & The Six," starring Riley Keough, as well as "Shrinking," starring Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, and Jessica Williams for Apple TV.

Bleecker Street will release SUMMERING in theaters nationwide August 12, 2022.
