Woman Makes Planter Box Using Wooden Blocks and Pavers

This woman showed how to make a DIY planter box using wooden blocks and pavers. Wrapping the wood around the pavers, she was able to make a frame and fixed the two together. Once all 4 sides and the base were made, she fixed them all together and clamped them tight for 24 hours so everything would set properly. Once she removed the straps that clamped the pieces, all that was left to do was fill the planter with some plants.

00:00I'll show you how to DIY a planter out of 2x2s and pavers. First cut 8 strips at 12
00:07inches and 4 strips at 16 inches. Sand and stain to the color of your choice. Lay a paver
00:11down and form a U around the paver with two 16 inch strips and one 12 inch strip. Pre-drill
00:15and screw together. Repeat the process for one other side. Once both sides are built,
00:20stand 4 pavers upright. Add flex glue to 3 sides of each paver. Now you can adhere the
00:242x2 walls. To make the bottom, take the remaining 12 inch strips and lay 2 vertically and 4
00:29horizontally evenly spaced inside. Screw all pieces together. Squeeze the pavers together
00:33to form a box and place the built bottom on top. Be sure to let the flex glue dry for
00:37a full 24 hours. I used tie downs as clamps while drying. You can use wood filler to cover
00:42the screws, seal the corners of the planter with some clear flex shot, and to protect
00:46the planter from the outside elements, brush on some clear flex seal liquid. I cannot wait
00:51to get this planter outside once spring fully hits. For now, it's inside with some faux
00:54flowers.
