Water Skiers Go Barefoot Skiing With Professional Crew

This group of skiers got together to go barefoot waterskiing with a professional crew in Indiana. Even though a few of them lost their balance during their attempts, most of them displayed remarkable skills and smoothly skied over the water without falling at all.

00:00Alright, we made it.
00:15We are here on Morris Lake in Indiana and yes, it is dark, like we are actually beating
00:22the sun.
00:23It's not the evening.
00:24This is early.
00:25What time is it right now?
00:266 o'clock.
00:27It's like barely 6 o'clock, been up since 4.30.
00:31This is the Barefoot crew this morning.
00:33Y'all ready to have some fun?
00:35Yeah!
00:36Alright, we got this Barefoot Nautique.
00:37This is Mark's.
00:38Mark, what year is this?
00:401992.
00:411992 Barefoot Nautique.
00:43Did you know that's a thing?
00:44Not everybody knows that Nautique made Barefoot Nautiques and these things are pretty rad.
00:50So we got a boom off the side.
00:52If you don't know what that is, it's a pole that goes off the side and if you guys want
00:54to learn a little bit more about how to Barefoot, you can go check out some of my how-to's
00:59on those.
01:00But this morning, we've got some kids who are experienced, we've got some newbies and
01:05some in between.
01:06So I might even get in there for a foot but this morning it's about these kids getting
01:10on the water.
01:11What we're doing here is we are here with N3 Boats, good buddy Mark Doherty, Beth Doherty
01:16and they're the Nautique dealer here in Indiana and Shredfest is happening.
01:22What that is, is we get kids out on the water for three days in a row, wakeboarding, some
01:27wake surfing and this year we're introducing Barefooting.
01:30Rusty Malinowski is here, well he's actually not here, he's not here to foot right now.
01:34Though he gets up early, he's not here footing with us.
01:37Rusty, maybe next time, come on dog.
01:40But alright, let's load up, let's have some fun boys and girls.
01:43How sick is this?
01:44Barefoot suit.
01:45Chloe, how old are you?
01:46Eight.
01:47Eight years old.
01:48Have you Barefooted before?
01:49When did you start Barefooting?
01:51So like one or two years you've been Barefooting?
01:57That's pretty cool.
01:59This is where hopefully Mark doesn't fall in, what he's doing right now is he's putting
02:03on the five foot line onto the boom.
02:06So you first learn to go straight off the boom, which you'll see some people do I'm
02:09sure today, but then you graduate up to the five foot line, but trying to put it on and
02:14stay dry.
02:16Mark's the owner of N3 Boats and how long have you been putting on Shredfest for?
02:20I've been doing it consecutively since 16, 17.
02:23Cool.
02:24Yep.
02:25It's awesome.
02:26Yeah, getting kids out on the water.
02:27Of course us adults like to join in the fun too.
02:28Yeah.
02:29Ready?
02:30Kind of the silver lining.
03:20Name, age, and previous experience Barefooting.
03:23Carter, 12, none.
03:25Top speed in this boat?
03:2653.
03:27And Mark, what was the last year that Barefoot Nautique was produced?
03:311994.
03:32But Nautique, it'd be great if you brought one back in maybe 2024.
03:35Yeah.
03:36That'd be great.
03:37Right?
03:50So he's your twin brother?
04:15Yeah.
04:16And were you nervous before he went?
04:17Yeah.
04:18Do you feel a little bit better now?
04:20Yeah, a little bit better.
04:21I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to do that good, but we'll see.
04:25You and your twin have a little bit of a conflict.
04:28What'd you think?
04:29It was great.
04:30I felt like I got whacked.
04:32But in a good way.
04:34Yeah, in a good way.
04:35The right way.
04:36Anything on water is great.
04:48Well, there it is.
04:50The sun is coming up.
04:52We've been out here for a while.
04:54Ready to go.
05:18We're going doubles, right?
05:20Heck yeah.
05:21I was getting ready to go hop on the boom.
05:23Like, oh no, you're hopping out long line.
05:25Wait, what?
05:26And where?
05:27You got to step off ski?
05:28No, I'm going to deep up.
05:29When was the last time I deeped up, Mark?
05:30I don't know.
05:31How do you do it?
05:32Oh, look at that sun.
05:33Oh my gosh.
05:34Barefoot in the morning.
05:35Looks gorgeous.
05:36Fast.
06:18Mark, it's kind of like the unwritten law, slash rule, like, don't be the first to drop,
06:29right?
06:30Right.
06:31Never want to be the first one down, because then your buddy looks over at you like, I
06:36beat you.
06:37I beat you.
06:38It's kind of like an endurance thing.
06:40Yes.
06:41Right?
06:42100%.
06:43A little bit of pride.
06:44Ego.
06:45All those things are on the line.
06:46That's where that feet on fire.
06:47That's where that tournament is rooted in.
06:49The last one I did was the Groveland Barefoot Lapse Challenge.
06:52Did you go to that?
06:53Yeah.
06:54I want to go to that.
06:55Yeah, I made it into the semis.
06:56Awesome.
06:57Yeah, but I got the best crash work, because I brought my GoPro, and I was trying to shoot
07:04the crowd going by and fully ate it.
07:06What?
07:10That didn't work.
07:24Did you get it?
07:28He got it.
07:32Thumbs up.
07:34Idiot.
07:35Idiot
08:05Thanks for watching!
