Curmudgeonly Shekhar (Amitabh Bachchan) is new to the neighbourhood, and it doesn't take long for the adjacent children playing and the street noise to exceed his tolerance. Mili (Shubha Khote), who is completely the opposite, comes to the rescue. Shekhar may initially be unsure of what to do with her, but soon he falls in love. Unfortunately, he discovers Mili has a terrible medical condition and has only a few weeks to live when the time comes to ask for her hand in marriage.
