Holders France booked their place in the semi-finals after beating England 2-1 at the Al Bayt Stadium.

The defending champions struck first through Aurelien Tchouameni, who fired in a belter from 25 yards out. England upped the ante in the second half and Harry Kane equalised from the spot after Bukayo Saka was hauled down by France's goalscorer.

Didier Deschamps' side upped the pressure & reclaimed the lead through Olivier Giroud in the 78th minute. That joy was going to be short-lived as England were awarded another penalty; only for Kane to sky his effort this time.
