Today we head to Tamana Caves where an approximate 1.5 million bats of at least 8 different species roost before bursting forth to forage at nightfall. Then, outside the caves… we encountered not one but two dangerous creatures, a Mapepire Snake, the potentially deadly pit viper, and a Trinidad Thick-tailed Scorpion, documented as the first known scorpion species able to produce a pancreatotoxic venom (causing damage to the pancreas). Now, that venom is already neurotoxic (affecting the nervous system) and cardiotoxic (affecting the cardiac or heart muscles) so we had to be extremely careful while documenting it. What gave us the most trouble however came at the end… you’ll see.
WILD Trinidad & Tobago documents Robert Dumas and his team as they brave the Wild to see if they can find some of the rarest, deadliest, most beautiful & interesting animals on earth, right in our own backyard. A few can only be found in T&T, so do they ever find what they seek? Does everyone make it back unharmed?
