Manhattan Serenade Nat Shilkret Victor Salon Orch 1928

  • hace 2 años
14 years prior to the better-known lyrical recordings of “Manhattan Serenade” by the bands of Tommy Dorsey and Harry James, the familiar tune had been introduced on this 12-inch Victor single release as an instrumental track, presented by Shilkret in what was sometimes known as a ‘concert arrangement,’ featuring secondary melodies and tempo changes rather than a consistent dance rhythm.

From 78rpm Victor 35914 - Manhattan Serenade (Alter) by The Victor Salon Orchestra, Nathaniel Shilkret director, recorded March 1, 1928
