Watch Charlie, the adorable cat in question, entering a room and hearing his owner, Lily McPhilimey, greeting him.
In response, Charlie turns his head and, surprisingly, replies by uttering a clear-cut 'Hello!'
"Charlie, the cat, is very vocal when he returns home," said Lily. "I was having a bath and decided to film him as he was making a lot of noise.
"I said hello to him, and he responded with Hello - clear as day."
