Gilgamesh - Gilgamesh 1975 (UK, Canterbury Scene, Jazz-Rock/Fusion)
debut album. Gilgamesh - English band related to the Canterbury scene, playing Jazz-Rock/Fusion in the mid to late 70's. Built (in other words for all Canterbury groups find difficult) in the fall of 1972. The band split in 1975, shortly after the release of their debut album. In 1977, the group can be said to "accidentally" reunited to rehearse and recorded their second album in the summer of 1978. Gilgamesh was the basis of the first duet Gouena Alan (Alan Gowen) on keyboards and Mike Travis (Mike Travis) on drums. After a series of changes in the composition, after the comings and goings Rica Morkomba, Jeff Klein, Alan Ueykmena and Richard Sinclair, the quartet finally emerged with the arrival of bassist Neil Murray (Neil Murray) and guitarist Phil Lee (Phil Lee). This was followed by migration of bass players, when Murray replaced Steve Cook, followed by Mont Campbell and finally came to Jeff Kline already recording their debut album. After retiring from the National Health in March 1977 Gouen began work on the new songs and working on new material called Phil Lee, Neil Murray and drummer Trevor Tomkins (Trevor Tomkins). In the end, it so happened that this group became the second composition Gilgamesh. By the time the second album in June 1978, Murray replaced bassist Hugh Hopper (Hugh Hopper), but this line-up lasted only for a recording session. Gilgamesh released two albums: «Gilgamesh» (1975) by Carline Records (into the distance - a subsidiary label of Virgin) and «Another Fine Tune You've Got Me Into» (1978) on Charly Records. American label Cuneiform Records released a CD of archival records Gilgamesh called «Arriving Twice» in September 2000. It consists of previously unreleased recordings 1973-1975 period.
