Homes and roads continue to flood in Hellingly and Horsebridge

There’s been Monday morning chaos across the area as roads and homes continue to flood after heavy rainfall.

Residents in Hellingly are still pumping out water from their gardens as runoff water backs up from the Cuckmere river. Many parts of the villages, including areas not previously flooded, are under deep floodwater today.

Cars have been abandoned, as drivers discover many of the roads are impassible.
