Er hat die Mutter bis zu ihrem Tod gepflegt, war danach Soldat im Irak und steht nun wieder vor der Tür. Tommys älterer Bruder Brendan ist daheim geblieben. Er hat eine Familie gegründet und sich eine Existenz als Lehrer aufgebaut.
