When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn't going to be as easy as they thought. Eine Gruppe von kleinkriminellen Außenseitern wird von einem seltsamen und mysteriösen Fremden angeheuert, ein einzigartiges Video-Tape zu stehlen, das sich in einem heruntergekommenen, alten Haus abgeschieden im Nirgendwo befinden soll. Geht das Eindringen in das Gebäude noch problemlos vonstatten, merken sie schon bald, dass der gesamte Auftrag nicht so einfach ist, wie sie sich das vorgestellt haben. Im Wohnzimmer finden sie einen leblosen Körper, umgeben von alten Fernsehgeräten und zahlreichen Videokassetten. Auf den Bändern finden sie verstörende und erschreckende Szenen und jedes neue Video ist schrecklicher als das vorherige.
