With the Tripura Assembly Elections just two days away, the authorities have taken several steps to maintain peace in the state including the imposition of Section 144 from 10 pm to 6 am, along with setting up of more than 250 nakas, informed state Chief Electoral Officer Secretary Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao on February 13 in Agartala. Dinkarrao further informed that borders with Assam and Mizoram have also been sealed, meanwhile, the authorities have also seized cash, drugs, gold, and freebies worth over Rs 44 crore. The state Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on February 16 whereas the counting of votes will he held on March 02. “More than 250 nakas have been set up across the state. From today we've sealed the borders with Assam and Mizoram. So far we have made seizures worth over Rs 44 crore. This includes cash, drugs, gold, and freebies,” Dinkarrao said.
