[Note]

This lick is in the key of A♭ major blues.
This lick is based on A ♭minor pentatonic scale plus additional notes.
This lick was played on V, IV and I chord.
There are 2 additional notes to minor pentatonic scale and they are the major 6th and the major 2nd.
From the point of view of V chord, the major 6th of the key is the major 2nd of V chord, and the major 2nd of the key is the 5th of the 5 chord.

Since it includes a chord tone, this phrase is more melodious.
Also notice the same shape is repeated on V and IV chord. It's interesting.
The double stops in this lick are made from notes of minor pentatonic scale. 4th intervals on the higher 2 strings like this lick is useful and easy to play.
Also this is more general stuff, but the box positions shown in the diagram are very tasty spot.

Use these box positions more horizontally rather than vertically.
You may have learned minor pentatonic scale in vertical shapes, but some positions are easier to play horizontally and these positions are the example.
Explore minor pentatonic scale horizontally on the fretboard.
