Hard to believe because they're all over the place now, but we once lived in a world without all-sports radio stations. The success of two Black sportscasters -- Art Rust Jr. and Dave Sims -- showed the concept was worth trying. Rust and Sims hosted shows on different New York stations in the 80s, and their popularity helped lead to the creation of WFAN, the first all-sports radio station. Now stations with 24-hour sports format are everywhere, and the work of Rust and Sims was a catalyst.
