In Two Years

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says the Philippines would be close to achieving self-sufficiency in rice in two years with the major reorganization of government agencies involved in efforts to ensure food security in the country. Marcos issued the statement on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2022, following his meeting in Malacañang with the officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), who briefed him on the state of the country’s irrigation system.
