A wet spring, rapid growth and a hot summer are posing a grassfire risk on Melbourne's fringe

Two separate grass fires have burnt through hectares of land near Melton. While those fires were brought under control quickly, it's a timely warning for residents in Melbourne's suburban fringe to prepare for an increased risk of fires as high temperatures dry out grass plains.
