Brexit voter says he was ‘sold the wrong thing’ and would now choose Remain

  • last year
A member of the BBC Question Time audience who voted for Britain to leave the European Union in 2016 has said he has since changed his mind about his vote, and would now choose to remain, after being "sold the wrong thing."

The voter from Sunderland explained to the panel, which included Tory minister Graham Stuart: "[UK] economic downturn is very clearly related to the EU... [Brexit] wasn't so-called 'oven ready'."

It comes after Rishi Sunak struck a deal with the EU on the Northern Ireland Protocol, the Windsor Framework.
