The spring clean of the UK’s deepest single lock. Canal and River Trust volunteers headed to Sowerby Bridge to clean the Tuel Lane Lock. The lock will be dewatered down to around 2-3ft water so that volunteers and staff are able to enter inside using waders to walk along the bottom of the lock chamber, clearing out any debris, litter and importantly clearing leaves which will have built up over the winter months.
