A small dog was rescued by California lifeguards after running loose in a car park and swimming out to sea. Rescuers saved the white lap dog from the water near the US city of Long Beach on 12th March. The lifeguards arrived at the scene and were able to save the dog with a rescue board and buoy. The dog was safely brought to shore with the assistance of Rescue Boat 2. Animal Control Services have reportedly been notified immediately after the rescue. The Long Beach Lifeguard Association said: "We are glad that he’s back with his family! Although we miss him around Long Beach Lifeguard Association HQ."
