A total of 2585 Agniveers, including 272 women, of the Indian Navy, passed out from the portals of INS Chilka, Odisha on March 28.
During his address, Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar said that in the Indian Ocean region, our nation is the largest resident naval power.
“Agniveer is an excellent scheme. For the first time, we are inducting women in ranks below officer rank. In the Indian Ocean region, we are the largest resident naval power. We keep good surveillance and the Indian Navy is well prepared,” said Admiral R Hari Kumar.
