Magdala Rose (2019) - ENGLISH movie

  • last year
In 1244, during a time of religious persecution, Pope Innocent IV and King Louis IX of France sought to eradicate a pacifist Christian group known as Cathars. The last of the Cathar heretics found protection at the Castle of Montsegur. Here a dedicated group of about 100 defending knights, under the Leadership of Lord Raymond and his family, held a crusading army of over 10,000 mercenaries at bay for 9 months. To this day, many people believe that the Cathars were the guardians of a treasure of great significance, possibly even the Holy Grail. It is rumoured that in the last days of the siege a small group managed to slip away in the dead of night to retrieve this hidden treasure and get it safely away from the clutches of the Catholic Church. This is their story.

00:00:46Thus, the Pope saw them as a

Cathars sought sanctuary

00:01:10Here, a sympathetic force
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
16
for more than nine months.
Ahyou bear good tidings.
00:01:50I'm afraid not, my Lord.

traitor in our midst.
Damn them!
What are our options?
I'd expect they'll bring in more reinforcements
00:02:18and then move their

managed to get inside
the castle before we sealed the main gate.
00:02:42What would you have us do now?
00:02:45We have no alternative,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
36
37
could destroy that as well.
Slim indeed.
We barely have 100 knights and men at arms left.
00:03:08If we fail...
00:03:11Well, we can't fail or
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
43
44
obvious means of escape.
My Lordswhat they're saying
00:03:32about today's encounter?
00:03:34Yes, yes, unfortunately.
00:03:38I will pray for
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
50
51
be better served
if you were to pray for a change of heart.
00:03:55We have taken vows
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
55
prepare for the worst.
Our time is short.
O Brethrenear to a noble Lesson.
00:04:53We ought always
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
60
to do good works...
I fear where this is all leading.
00:05:07Bertrand is preparing
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
64
for we are at the latter end.
And so we seek daily the signs to be accomplished.
00:05:26What will happen to us?
00:05:28That depends on what
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
69
and the demise of good...
King Louis and the Pope only want our lands and wealth.
00:05:42They've shown no mercy.
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
73
living can know the end.
The castle may fall
but Lord Guillaume and I will protect you.
00:05:58Our knights do not surrender.
00:06:01We have sworn to
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
80
81
knights against 10
I fear for my virtue as well as my death.
00:06:22For we
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
85
my end is appreciated
but unfortunatelynot very comforting.
00:06:46Please excuse me, I must
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
89
consumes you
and you feel the flamesyou fail to recant tonight,
00:07:27why do you refuse to believe
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
94
95
where we used to play
in the fields and you would hide, and I couldn't find you?
00:08:15That was so much fun.
00:08:18You could never work
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
101
warm milk and cake
and you can tell me where you would hide.
00:08:37No, that would be silly,
00:08:40then you'd know
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
106
107
go back home again?
I hope so.
An angel in the night, or am I mistaken?
00:09:42I think my Lord
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
112
those of us that remain.
It is but a candle. What keeps you up so late?
00:10:06I make peace with my
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
117
118
skill and courage
we would have already endured a slow and horrible death.
00:10:26This senseless persecution
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
122
123
124
the Catholic Order.
I really don't understand.
This new pope has an evil agenda.
00:10:54Even my fellow Templars fear
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
129
130
that make it worse for them?
So be it.
I cannot with all conscience not protect the innocent.
00:11:16It's why our Templar Order
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
137
138
139
140
140
a trap!
It's an honor to die with you, my brother.
00:14:15This is not our time.
00:14:17There will be another day
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
147
of them
We would have all been slaughtered.
00:14:54You're too impulsive
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
151
them off the mountain.
They'll kill us all now at their leisure.
00:15:09You're right.
00:15:11All I could think about was
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
157
158
heavily outnumbered.
Have we lost many.
No
Fortunatelyand Simon fought a strong
00:16:15rear guard action allowing our
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
168
169
170
help tend the wounded.
Food we can provide.
00:16:39Rest, well, might be a
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
174
175
in a heavenly battle.
God has prepared our path and we must follow
00:17:00where he has chosen,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
179
hide seems an unlikely choice
God would make.
Your belief in reincarnation makes you irresponsible.
00:17:18"We can always fix
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
184
I know that you're scared
and upsetrespect our beliefs.
00:17:36These beliefs have
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
188
189
190
is much work to do.
Lord
I'm not sure what we should do.
00:18:07We, we need to
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
195
help with the pain.
Philippa! We need to stop the bleeding.
00:18:42The Bishop has been
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200
201
202
running for cover.
At this stageno point laying blame,
00:19:06but we can't afford
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
209
you for getting us this far
but now myself and my followers must prepare ourselves
00:19:28for our martyrdom.
00:19:32Though perhaps if we
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
214
the Seneschal seeking terms
of surrenderbuy some more time.
00:19:48In that case, the Templar
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
218
I acted as a lone wolf.
What about Simon?
I have a plan.
His past relationship with the Seneschal
00:20:05could prove useful.
00:20:07He should be your messenger.
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
226
227
believe that you possess
an ancient artifact.
One that could unlock secrets.
Secrets that must never fall into enemy hands.
00:20:33Is this true?
00:20:36Yes, after the crucifixion,
00:20:41Mary Magdalene was
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
235
236
men with an ancient book.
Nowwithin its writings are clues
00:20:57to those secrets that...
00:21:01How did you know?
00:21:05After the first crusade
00:21:06to the Holy Land, the
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
243
uncovered text describing
a powerful ancient relic.
We believe that Mary's book may be the key to finding it.
00:21:21Do you still have the book?
00:21:23No, it was hidden nearby
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
249
before someone is tortured
into revealing its location.
Then we must make every effort to recover it now,
00:21:40before it's too late.
00:21:41Only one person knows of
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
256
means of escape.
No trap is ever perfect.
My lady
Why
A blacksmith's workshop?
It's hardly the sort of place where I'd expect to find you.
00:22:28Gerard is being kind enough
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
267
268
intends to hurt you.
He's like a puppy in your presence.
00:22:53I'm surprised he's
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
272
Gerard's talents today.
May I also suggestfeel the need for a weapon,
00:23:11maybe a crossbow might be a
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
278
279
280
281
282
than nothing.
I knowanything for some pork.
00:24:01Or fish, fresh fish.
00:24:04It must be a year
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
288
289
will get tired of all
this and leavethings can get back to normal.
00:24:27I don't know if that
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
294
295
managed to get any men up
the mountain before.
What will happen to us if they take the castle?
00:24:53I think they only want the
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
300
just a servant.
I'm sure father will look after you, and besides,
00:25:06you're not a Cathar.
00:25:15If only Pierre had not killed
00:25:16the Friars of the Inquisition.
00:25:19The Pope might
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
307
308
things to people
but it was still a stupid thing to do.
00:25:32After all, they did
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
313
he's still a good man.
Do you think we could escape before the castle falls?
00:25:55I would prefer to take my
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
317
318
and support our father.
However
if you wanted to try and escape, Mary.
00:26:14Where would you go?
00:26:15I have family to the north,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
327
328
329
330
watching the windows now.
I'm enjoying this wine, it's quite good.
00:28:15Simon.
00:28:17This day's full of surprises.
00:28:19Get him a seat and some wine.
00:28:26Thank you, my Lord.
00:28:27Bishop Petrus, you're a long
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
338
brings you to Montsegur?
Chance
I was returning from Templar duties
00:28:43in Toulouse, when I decided
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
344
to the castle.
Somewhat of an inconvenience.
My apologies
but Bishop Petrus was most convincing and insistent.
00:28:59I think you'll find Lord
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
350
succeed and quickly.
I've heard they have some reinforcements on the way.
00:29:15Why are you still here?
00:29:16The Templars have
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
357
358
heretics
It's God's way.
Your persistence in continuing this crusade must be
00:29:34a costly exercise.
00:29:36It has dragged on,
00:29:38but God's work requires
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
365
to sweeten the deal.
Those reinforcements could be here by Easter.
00:29:49Bishop, would you and
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
369
and I will tend to our flock.
I respect Lord Raymond's efforts in defending
00:30:18the heretics, but the
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
374
Devil's distraction
chasing a few misguided heretics.
00:30:30They're a harmless bunch.
00:30:32Damned if I'll get
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
379
380
381
a little more profit
if you show some mercy.
I see no winners in this encounter.
00:30:46This new Pope's fanatical.
00:30:48He wants to eradicate these
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
388
389
and this whole episode
will come to a quick end.
They're not all hereticsbut with no hope,
00:31:07ordinary men can become heroes.
00:31:11Besides, think of the time
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
397
demands of the Bishop.
What you do with your knights is not my concern.
00:31:40What would you have
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
401
and his family
along with his knightsbut be careful,
00:31:55my archers are not
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
406
may not save you.
Acceptedbe wise to remember,
00:32:08nothing can save you if you make
00:32:09the Templars your enemy.
00:32:13Hopefully our next
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
412
413
414
business as usual
however Bishop Petrus is another matter.
00:32:53He's a heartless fanatic,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
419
much room to maneuver.
After our recent loses
we don't have the men to hold them off any longer.
00:33:11If you're prepared
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
424
425
Cathars are doomed.
Save yourselvesdone the best you can.
00:33:52Save the women and
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
429
survival
Simonwent to their camp,
00:34:11how were their troops deployed?
00:34:14They're moving their men
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
435
436
smuggle some people out.
If it helpsmore time with negotiations.
00:34:30Then we have a plan.
00:34:35What numbers are
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
441
enough to travel quickly.
Do what you can. My place is here with my wife and family.
00:34:50I have sworn to
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
445
sworn to protect Bietta.
As you have with every other pretty lady in France.
00:35:01Her best chance is for
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
450
451
return to their camp
with Lord Raymond's terms of surrender.
00:35:19Then leave the area
00:35:21showing no further
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
456
457
inquisition will only stop
when they believe that myself and my Cathars have
00:35:38all been destroyed.
00:35:41We have accepted our fate
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
462
463
of their bloodline.
Unfortunately Bertrandmany bloodlines are
00:35:57about to be lost,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
467
would be spared.
Noit's better to burn now
00:36:11than submit to Satan
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
471
472
they want to hear.
You can take it back later. Think of the children.
00:36:29They don't even understand
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
476
the only one under attack.
They're blaming the Jews for killing Jesus.
00:36:48They're seizing and burning
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
480
481
482
483
must remain confidential
otherwise those who escape will be hunted down.
00:37:10Indeed, secrecy
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
487
488
the air is crisp and fresh.
It's a bit too cold for my liking.
00:37:53I like the cold,
491
tonight. It seems oddly strange.
They've stopped the constant bombardment
00:38:15with the trebuchet while
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
497
498
499
500
in the sadistic torture
of so many beautifulharmless people.
00:39:07The thought of slowly
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
509
totally consumed by fear.
Bertrand tells me that in death I am born again
00:39:54into another life, that
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
515
trust only my instincts
and so far they haven't failed me yet.
00:40:32I've seen good men, great men,
00:40:37on both sides die
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
520
that we don't need to look
for God
whether we believe it or not.
Well if there ever was a good time
00:41:10for God to reveal
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
526
Tomorrow will be a big day.
No one must know about this.
You're secret is safe.
Ah
I've found some rope. I hope it's enough.
00:41:58I need to meditate and pray.
00:42:01Take care. Simon,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
535
536
537
people know
I understand. What next?
Stick to our plan.
Deliver Lord Raymond's surrender document
00:42:28to Lord Hughes, and then
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
545
546
547
548
there's no other way?
I'm worried about the girls.
We have so few men left
that we were lucky to have survived the last attack.
00:43:07I know, those
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
554
would have been here by now.
But the Lord of Toulouseand King of Aragon have
00:43:22both promised to send knights.
00:43:26I know, but I think
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
559
hears our prayers.
You can inform Lord Raymond that I will require
00:44:00hostages as an
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
564
time here already.
Suit yourself.
Give my regards
to Lord Guillaume and the Templars when next you see them.
00:44:17Rumor has it that he's
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
570
571
not to be missed.
Yesare there for the taking.
00:44:28Indeed, so once
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
575
576
577
578
of his allegiances?
Simon comes from a good family.
00:44:54I have no reason to doubt
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
583
584
and make sure it's safe.
Are you sure there's no other way?
00:45:19If there was another
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
588
589
and what about Meg?
If I can manageI'm sure you're fine.
00:45:35Just try not to look down.
00:45:37Meg's small, she can be
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
594
told and hold on tight.
Given the choicewould stay and fight.
00:46:01Sneaking off into the night
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
598
for the future.
There are greater battles ahead.
Be careful. Please be careful.
We're almost there.
Rest up and catch your breath while they lower Meg.
00:47:21This better work. There's
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
607
608
and then you can rest.
I'm tired.
Shh. We need to be quiet.
Did you hear that?
It's probably nothing. It might just be a badger.
00:49:34Let's not go
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
615
plans for tonight.
Please don't hurt me again. I'm not a Cathar.
00:49:50Quiet!
00:49:53I just want to go home.
00:49:54If you're good and
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
623
maid from the castle.
I'm sorryrisk losing you and Meg.
00:50:28Come on, Meg. There's
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
628
time to consider
their allegiances and to and make peace with God.
00:50:58And then what?
00:51:00What Raymond is trying to say,
00:51:04is after that 14 day period,
00:51:08those who have repented
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
638
done everywhere else.
There's also a demand for hostages
00:51:30to guarantee our compliance.
00:51:32Hostages are out
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
643
644
attack and kill every last
one of us.
We have no alternative left than to accept.
00:51:57Come, I'll negotiate
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
649
650
651
when she married Pierre.
Is there nothing we can do to stop this?
00:52:42What's happening?
00:52:44I'm not sure.
00:52:46The horn, it's
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
661
662
Consolamentum
you as a heretic.
My wound has become inflamed.
It will take me long before they take this castle.
00:53:26I can't bear to
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
668
to be here with Jean.
I'll come back for you, as fast as I can.
00:53:59Is it true? We've
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
674
to a short truce.
This allows people the time to get their lives
00:54:17in order and consider
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
678
Rome
After all they've done, you trust them?
00:54:31What about the others?
00:54:32There is no option. This way,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
685
686
687
688
me in my meditation?
You must stop father from surrendering the castle.
00:55:11I think it's too
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
692
693
694
Bertrand is going
to perform the Consolamentum.
Well we cannot stop him
if he chooses to die as a Cathar.
00:55:36But I think Esclarmonde
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
700
701
702
most welcome to join us.
The presence of the Holy Spirit has deeply touched
00:56:11our hearts tonight.
00:56:14If the Catholics find
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
707
is now assured
and they will both live again.
Jean's getting very weakhe hasn't much time left.
00:56:32We should allow them
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
712
instruct the others as well.
Ahwhat have we done?
00:57:19We can rest here today and
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
716
717
718
be more cautious
as to where she chooses to bathe?
00:59:33A gentleman would look
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
723
724
725
726
727
moment to stop and just relax.
Is that's why Templars don't bathe?
01:00:03It rusts the armor.
01:00:06Then it might be prudent to
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
734
mission
And who is the lady?
This is Lady Bietta of Aragon.
I've been commissioned to protect and escort
01:00:39her on her pilgrimage
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
741
742
Preceptor of Guyenne.
Do you dare challenge my authority?
01:00:54You must submit
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
750
beat them both.
I couldn't have done it without Meg's help.
01:01:39Meg, are you okay?
01:01:44Meg?
01:02:08You took
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
758
of the sentries. Any news?
I think Lord Hughes bought my story,
01:02:27but it still doesn't look
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
764
to burn the Cathars.
Say no more. Our concerns are here now.
01:02:43They were the sentries
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
768
769
770
and Meg in any more danger.
Help me to hide these bodies.
I'm so tired.
Try and rest. I won't leave.
I love you so much.
I know.
They can take away everything
but they can never take away our love.
01:03:39That is ours forever.
01:03:52I am here. I always
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
783
784
785
786
collecting berries.
We hid until they left. It was terrible.
01:04:59Meg still has
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
790
a lot of what happened.
It's how she copes with it.
We only talk about the good times.
01:05:20Meg always loved coming here
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
796
mushrooms and things nearby.
Simonand while you're at it,
01:05:41check out the area.
01:05:43Meg's looking tired.
01:05:46She can rest now while
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
803
804
thinking about that man.
I didn't mean to kill him. I just wanted to make him stop.
01:06:31What you did saved my life,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
809
810
escaped the Inquisition.
Did you not want to sleep?
I think she likes you.
She is kind and caring with everyone.
01:07:07And very intelligent for a
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
818
son in my family
there wasn't much opportunity.
I wanted more excitement.
A chance to traveland see the world.
01:07:54How's that working out?
01:07:56Well at the moment, a
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
825
Templar is a harsh existence.
Guillaume's been quite supportive, all
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
831
832
833
be looking after her.
I must have dozed off. Simon, go find her.
01:09:05She cannot have gone far.
01:09:09I'll look in the
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
838
839
look after her
And you lose her. You're so useless.
01:09:27Apparently. Look,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
843
844
trying to help find food.
She's all I've got now.
I knowokay. Look, trust me.
01:09:48I did, and look what happened.
01:09:53Look, while they're gone,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
851
wanting from me?
We need to recover the Cathar relics
01:10:10before we run into
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
855
told me not to trust anyone.
He may have
but he also told me to get them to a safe place,
01:10:27before Hughes
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
862
863
nearby where she used to play.
I could never find it or her.
So you entrusted one of the greatest treasures
01:11:00in the world to a 10 year old?
01:11:04I thought no one
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
870
871
one minute she was there
the next she was gone.
I thought she might have come back here.
01:11:50We need to find her,
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
876
877
worried about you.
I thought you'd want this.
Guard it well.
Simonthe area before dark.
01:13:08How are you
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
883
884
885
here
That Guillaume can be so annoying.
01:13:40Look, Bietta's
888
889
890
the Cathar beliefs
yet Bertrand entrusted her with their most valuable relic.
01:13:58I hadn't thought about
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
894
895
could she possibly do?
Never underestimate women
they can be much more cunning than men.
01:14:15Trust me, I know.
01:14:18I'll keep that
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
901
902
903
troops during winter.
Life is never easy.
We would be less conspicuous on foot though,
01:14:39and that does give
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
911
912
out of our sight.
You're right. We had better head back.
01:15:14Meg, let me see that
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
916
917
918
be right for the evening.
We'll take turns to keep watch, just in case.
01:15:52It's going to be a cold night,
01:15:54so we've been preparing a fire.
01:15:56We cannot risk a fire.
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
924
just keep it small.
I'm sorry to disturb your meals, your Grace, I have news.
01:16:47Well, get on with it.
01:16:49Two of our perimeter
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
930
931
- Lord Hughes
if you don't mind
I'd like to send one of my friars to accompany them.
01:17:08Not at all. Who
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
936
If you insist.
Why the interest in a couple of missing sentries?
01:17:36We've had a few desert lately.
01:17:39No interest.
01:17:41I just wanted some more duck
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
942
think we should head back.
We need to know what happened to the sentries.
01:18:18They'd be long gone by now,
01:18:20and besides I'm getting
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
948
949
950
were here. Where are they?
I don't know. Pleasedo you have some water?
01:19:09Did you see which
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
954
soldiers. I'll question her.
I think they went this way!
I've had enough of this.
What now? We need to keep searching.
01:19:53I hate to see them
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
200:00:28,994 --> 00:00:30,547
963
seeing the girls.
Shh
I've got an idea.
