00:00 As-salamu alaykum lovelies. Today I'm going to share with you this. This is my
00:05 signature hijab style that you see me do a million times. This style is possible
00:10 with all of the hijabs, the wing hijabs, the standard hijabs, the maxi hijabs,
00:14 offering different kinds of coverage obviously and the look will be slightly
00:17 different but the style can be replicated with any of the hijabs. The
00:21 hijab I've used today is actually a redesigned hijab. It has evolved again
00:25 and I've now changed a couple of things. So what I've done was I wanted to get
00:30 the size perfect to create this style because whilst I was creating it with
00:34 the old hijab it was slightly complicated and there was quite a bit of
00:38 tucking involved. You can create other styles as well of course but this is
00:41 just very much suited to this style just because I love this style so much and so
00:46 I changed the length of the wings, the two side bits in the hijab. If you don't
00:51 know what a hijab is, it's something that I created a couple of years ago and what
00:54 it is is it's a hijab with a hood on it. So the hood remains and the two side
00:59 bits are what I altered very slightly so one is slightly shorter than the other
01:04 but it's a very precise measurement. You can adjust your old hijab as well if you
01:09 like the style just make it slightly shorter on one side compared to the
01:13 other. Also with this style you can adjust it really easily so if you're
01:16 somebody who doesn't like the look or the feel of pinning the hijab behind the
01:20 ears you can also very easily pin it from the front. Whilst this doesn't have
01:24 strings you can just use a normal no-snag hijab pin or a safety pin. Though if you use a
01:31 safety pin make sure that you put in a bead or a bit of paper or something
01:38 through the pin at the front and leave it around this loop bit or just before
01:43 the loop bit so that the scarf doesn't snag on this part here. Although there is
01:46 always a chance if you use these pins for the scarf to snag on the other side
01:50 of the pin as well that's why I always recommend no-snag hijab pins. These are
01:55 of course bigger, considerably bigger than this kind of safety pin so I don't
02:01 know you have to weigh up the chance of snaggage around here versus how big of a
02:05 pin you want to use so that's really up to you. So let me get started and start
02:10 off by rolling off the hijab because my chair happens to be on it and I'm gonna
02:14 take the hood and put the hood over my head. The hood part hasn't changed at all
02:19 so here's the hood and then I'm going to take each side and I need to secure it
02:27 behind my ear. When I say pin behind the ears what I mean is to take a slide or a
02:33 Barbie pin if you're American. That was a really bad accent. You take the slide and
02:38 you slide it through both the hijab and the underscarf so that's going to hold
02:45 the hijab securely in place because you're pinning it onto the underscarf
02:52 itself. So take the slide and slide it through the underscarf and the hijab. Next
03:00 I'm going to take the hijab and I'm going to flip it. Take the back of the
03:05 hijab, lift it up and this curved bit just position that right in the middle
03:11 and then I'm going to take this side, this is my right, it'll probably be left
03:17 for you. I'm just going to take the hijab around my face like this and I'm going
03:23 to pin onto the other side. So I'm going to take a straight hijab pin, pin this
03:32 part down. Once that's held in place I will drape the rest of the scarf around.
03:39 So this is what's going to create those folds and the draped bits like this. Make
03:45 as many folds as you want so I'm just going to do one more over here and then
03:49 you take this part and you sort of leave it hanging like that. I just put a
03:56 straight pin there to hold it in place. You don't have to do that, I'm just doing it
03:59 now because I'm moving my head around and I don't want the hijab to fall off. Then I'm
04:03 going to take the rest of the hijab and drape it at the front, this part of the
04:09 drape is going to come around so I'm just going to tuck this part of the scarf inside
04:12 and then, let's see, I want this part to come up about this high. I'm just going to
04:22 bring that around. All those parts that are up here that might have been
04:26 sticking out like this, you want to tuck that under this second part and that's
04:35 really about it. Let me pin down. I'm going to put a pin over here, over here and then I'm going to remove my next scarf.
04:47 So this is the final hijab style. I've tucked the hijab into the necklace and
04:57 my cardigan at the front here and this is what it looks like from the back.
05:02 That's a 360, it's shake proof and it definitely is budge proof so if you're
05:07 going to be nodding a lot or quite active, definitely this will not budge at all
05:14 provided you've pinned. Remember when you pin, you must pin through the under scarf
05:18 as well, it must weave in and out. You must go through all of the layers of the
05:22 hijab or hojab that you're wearing and also the under scarf because that is
05:26 what's going to hold the scarf in place. So I hope you guys enjoyed watching this
05:31 tutorial. Inshallah let me know what you thought, give it a thumbs up if you
05:34 liked it and I will catch you soon in my next video.
