Eye Makeup with Q-Tips Tutorial

00:00 Hello everybody!
00:05 Today I'm going to be showing you a whole eye look using nothing but some q-tips.
00:11 So anyway, I'm going to be using the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette, an It Cosmetics eyeliner,
00:20 and a Too Faced mascara.
00:21 But the only tools I'll be using for this look will be my q-tips.
00:27 So I've got a couple of pointy ones, and then about 3 or 4 just rounded ones.
00:33 So that is all I'm going to be using to complete the look.
00:37 So you might hear my daughter, she's right there.
00:40 So sorry.
00:41 But anyway, that's all I'm using and I'll get right into it.

00:48 Let me zoom in.
00:54 Okay so, I've already primed my eyes and I'm just going to go in with the crease shade
01:04 on a round q-tip.
01:05 And for the crease shade, I'm going to be mixing this light taupe with this dark taupe.
01:13 See right there.
01:16 I'm just going to use my palette to get me started.
01:29 Anyway, take that lightly into the crease.
01:51 You can already see that I'm getting some subtle definition.
01:53 I'm going to go back in with that lighter taupe.
01:56 She's got a cold, can you hear it?
02:12 Okay so, that crease is almost done.
02:15 I'm going to go in with the same one and do the same thing to the other side.
02:25 And basically what I'm doing is just putting it down into the spot where it needs to go
02:34 and then I'm going back with the same shade with the lighter...
02:37 I mean with the same q-tip with the lighter of the two shades I blended and sort of diffuse

02:46 Or blend it.
02:47 It's still a little dark.
03:14 Okay, so then I'm just going to flip the other one around and I'm going to take that shimmer

03:39 Anyway, I'm going to take this one.
03:45 My kids are home today so I hear all this noise.
03:50 So I'm going to just put that down on the lid.
04:10 I'm really packing on the shimmer shade.
04:24 Because I like a little shimmer.

04:34 I think that looks good.
04:40 I just think that this eye needs to be a little darker like the other one now.
04:51 Okay so so far only one q-tip used and most of my eye look done.
04:55 I'm now going to take this q-tip that's clean and blend.
05:13 Now I'm going to take that cream shade right here.
05:35 So anyway, if you're ever caught without beauty tools, just know that as long as you have
05:57 q-tips you can do eye makeup.
06:10 I just need to go into the outer V so I'm going to take a pointy q-tip.
06:16 Pointy one.
06:17 And I'm going to go in with this darker shade again.
06:22 I'm going to tap it off.
06:34 It's about even.
07:04 And then I'm going to put most of the q-tips down.
07:16 All of them really.
07:17 And then.
07:20 Okay.
07:23 And now I'm going to take the It Cosmetics, I'm going to take that and go onto my lash
07:41 line.
07:53 Just kind of messily, it doesn't need to be perfect.
07:56 What I'm going to do is take a q-tip and blend it out for a diffused look.
08:18 I'm only going to go about halfway in on my lid because putting too much dark colors on
08:27 the inner part of your lid will actually close it off and I want my eyes to look more open
08:32 for this look.
08:33 So in case you didn't know that, now you do.
08:38 With that same pointy q-tip that I did the outer V work with, I'm going to just smudge
08:46 in the liner.
08:53 And truth be told, if I'm smudging my liner, a lot of the times I'm going to use a q-tip
08:58 anyway even if I have the brushes.
09:00 So there's that.
09:07 And then just gently blend that with your finger.
09:11 Alright.
09:12 So I'm done with all of the eyeshadow and the eyeliner.
09:19 So now I'm just going to do the mascara and I'm going to use my favorite which is the
09:25 Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.
09:28 The light's really making that not work good.
09:32 Okay.
09:33 Anyway.
09:34 I need my palette again.
09:38 I always think I can do everything without a mirror.
09:42 Do you guys think I should do the no makeup challenge or the no mirror challenge?
09:46 That would be interesting.
09:51 So anyway.
09:56 I'm going to do the no makeup challenge.
10:23 I knew that was going to happen.
10:38 I touched my eyelid with my mascara.
10:42 But my best clean up tip for that is also q-tips.
10:47 So I don't know why, but mascara really is the thing that I mess up on all the time.
11:00 Okay so I'm done with my makeup look and now I just need to clean up these smudges I make.
11:05 And I don't know...
11:06 Let me zoom in again.
11:09 You can see the smudging.
11:14 I'm just going to take my q-tip and just gently rub it up.
11:22 And then I like to roll underneath my lower lash line.
11:38 Okay and there you have it.
11:40 So that is my finished look.
11:44 It's really super simple.
11:45 It's sort of smoky but really easy.
11:49 And as you see I didn't use anything but q-tips.
