00:03 Hi, I'm Sebia Lewis, and we're working on a smoky eye
00:08 with Brooke Burke here from Modern Mom.
00:10 And what I have here is I want to show a difference in the--
00:15 if you close your lids, the top lid is finished.
00:18 It's got black at the base, so the darkest part
00:21 is at the base of the lash line going upward.
00:25 It kind of blends out.
00:26 Our smoky eye is just tighter, tighter, tighter around the eye
00:29 and then blends out as you go.
00:31 So we're not looking at a really harsh line.
00:33 And this eye has not been blended completely,
00:35 so you can see the difference there.
00:37 This eye actually looks softer, even
00:38 though there's an awful lot of makeup on it
00:40 because of the blending.
00:41 For sure.
00:42 For sure.
00:44 And I'm using just a really, really tiny brush
00:47 to kind of blend everything together.
00:49 And not necessarily a daytime look,
00:52 but a great, sexy evening--
00:54 For sure.
00:57 And actually, one of my favorite styles of makeup.
01:00 I think it actually extends the eye.
01:03 I think it's a really sexy look.
01:07 Just add a little more here.
01:10 And I'm just lightly going over everything that
01:13 was placed on, blending upward.
01:27 So how important are the brushes that you're using?
01:30 Well, the brushes are very important
01:33 because they do different things.
01:35 So if you want to place quite a bit of color,
01:40 you would use a short little heart brush.
01:43 And this one I use just to place color first.
01:45 The other one's to blend.
01:46 OK, so the most important thing we
01:51 need to remember for the smoky eye
01:53 is go ahead and just line, line, line with the darkest color.
01:57 And you're going to blend everything upward.
01:59 The key is to blend everything so it doesn't look like there's
02:01 a start or a finish.
02:04 All right.
02:05 Thank you.
