00:00 assaults. 10 round main event of the evening Carlos Sanchez 23 and 1 Alexander
00:19 Duran 21 and 0.
00:24 Here we go.
00:36 It's time to fight.
00:38 Duran the southpaw in the black and gold trunks, blue and white trunks for Carlos Sanchez who
00:45 in the fighter meetings did say he's coming off a fight against the southpaw so he gets
00:51 a little more of that look here tonight Chris.
00:53 Yeah but this southpaw is a little different than his past opponent.
00:57 This one is quite crafty and is going to pose some problems that are going to have to be
01:01 solved for Sanchez if he's going to land that power.
01:04 He looks big in there too.
01:08 The bigger it looks the bigger of the two.
01:09 It's really lanky.
01:10 Big frame.
01:11 And the magical magic man is back from breaking down fights in between our matchups tonight
01:18 with Claudia Trejos in Spanish.
01:20 We have English and Spanish and everything and once in a while we get that Brooklyn Italian
01:24 with you guys have to listen to this.
01:27 Right, Paulie?
01:28 Yeah.
01:29 Yeah.
01:30 When it comes out.
01:31 When it comes out.
01:32 You give him one of those Manhattan specials and it really comes out.
01:36 You guys have to watch this fight.
01:38 That was a good assessment there.
01:41 He is big.
01:42 Look at his legs.
01:43 He's a lanky guy but he's got some thick legs on him as well.
01:47 He's tall and long and he's got the size of a wood clasp.
01:49 I'll tell you what.
01:50 His frame being imposing.
01:51 He's got Sanchez respecting him a little bit because usually Sanchez likes to start these
01:55 fights fast and he's kind of studying a little more before he's going to get aggressive.
02:01 Yeah, definitely being cautious which may not be a great plan against a crafty guy like
02:06 Teran.
02:08 Scheduled for ten.
02:10 Scheduled for ten twice Sanchez.
02:13 He was a victor in round number one in his first ten rounder and then stopped by Compa
02:19 in the third round of his other ten round fight.
02:24 Panama City's own Alexander Teran has gone twelve rounds.
02:28 Also has gone a full ten tonight.
02:30 Our main event.
02:31 Welterweight fight.
02:32 First of ten rounds.
02:33 Mike Goldberg, Chris Algieri, Paulie Molinaggi.
02:36 This is Pro Box TV.
02:38 We don't promote boxers.
02:40 We promote boxing.
02:44 This is something you always talk about is the jab as a setting the pace.
02:49 And Teran, even though he's a southpaw, he actually has a pretty good jab.
02:52 A lot of southpaws really kind of get away from the jab.
02:54 They really load up on their left hands.
02:55 But Teran uses his very well.
02:57 He likes to keep the pace slow and pick and measure with that shot.
03:00 You're seeing that already.
03:01 Yeah, when you can establish range and distance, you can control the pace.
03:04 You know, there's Sanchez trying to get a little bit aggressive, but you know, part
03:08 of controlling the pace.
03:09 The jab is a great thing about controlling the pace because if you can establish your
03:12 distance, it means you're going to dictate when it's time to fight and when it's time
03:14 to sit on the outside and rest.
03:16 And even as a southpaw, you said champ, Teran does a pretty good job of establishing that
03:21 distance and really keeps Sanchez, wants to be aggressive, keeps Sanchez respectful so
03:26 far to this point in round one.
03:33 And he's got a record of 44 and one with 26 knockouts.
03:40 Round one in the books.
03:51 They're saying that Teran keeps his right hand a little bit low.
04:17 You can time him with your hook.
04:37 Round number two.
04:41 Carlos Sanchez, blue and white trunks, Alexander Teran born and raised in Panama City.
04:48 He is in the black and gold trunks.
04:52 A feeling out process in round one, but the size and durability of Teran already on display
04:58 early.
04:59 Yeah, I mean, like I said, he's a very capable guy.
05:02 He's crafty in there.
05:03 We haven't seen much of his offense yet.
05:05 He's actually got a pretty good varied offense with some sneaky shots.
05:09 But right now he's really just dictating with the jab and the long left hands down low.
05:16 And Sanchez is going to have to make some adjustments here because, you know, if he
05:18 lets this pace continue for Teran, I mean, first of all, it's not going to be a very
05:23 exciting fight.
05:24 But second of all, it's also going to be a pretty easy night for Teran.
05:27 He's going to have to figure out ways to deal with that lead hand, maybe start parrying
05:31 it away a little stronger, maybe try to come over the top with a right hand even from around
05:36 the side.
05:37 And honestly, I don't think Teran cares if he stinks out the joint if he comes out with
05:41 the win.
05:42 It's not his crowd.
05:43 Yeah, very, very true.
05:44 He has never left Panama to fight.
05:46 This is first fight in Mexico.
05:49 In fact, his first fight outside of Panama, as I mentioned, fought just once in the last
05:55 three and a half years.
05:58 His brother Tony is a physical trainer.
06:00 They worked out, trained in the pool.
06:02 Alexander, father of three, his entire family in attendance.
06:06 And he's happy to be the spoiler.
06:08 A few moments ago, you saw that little stutter step back from from Teran.
06:12 We know that we talked about his controlling the distance and the space in the ring.
06:16 He's doing that really well.
06:17 Not only is it just a jab, but it's his footwork.
06:21 He's very deliberate with where he where he wants to be.
06:24 And he stays in within range that he can hit with with his long arms like that.
06:31 And I think Sanchez and the leads can start throwing at least right into the stomach.
06:35 You don't want to you don't want to leave yourself out there hanging, but don't try
06:38 to reach for right hands to the head.
06:39 You can start to try to, you know, at least throw some right hands to the chest, to the
06:43 stomach of Teran and then maybe let it lead into a right hand to the head.
06:46 But right now, Sanchez is being controlled on that outside.
06:50 Not only is Teran controlling the center of the ring now, he's actually backing Sanchez
06:53 up.
06:54 He is taking control of the center and he's using his straight left hands and jabs to put
06:58 Sanchez back against the ropes.
07:00 Not a good place for Sanchez to be.
07:02 And especially Sanchez, who has his best work when he's aggressive, you know, being put
07:10 on the back foot is something he's probably not going to be used to having any success
07:14 with.
07:15 And you can tell Sanchez, he's just he's not comfortable with the positions that he's in.
07:19 He's throwing his punches a little bit hesitant.
07:22 Mostly I think is he's off balance and he's afraid to miss.
07:25 And when he does get close, though, Teran's also doing a good job of smothering him and
07:28 forcing a break and they get back on the outside where he's going to start all over again.
07:32 I start thinking he's dropping some feints, something's got to start thinking to put Teran
07:40 back out of position.
07:41 In this position, Teran is high fiving to him.
07:42 You're high fiving him back.
07:43 You're not.
07:44 You're going to get lulled into a sparring section and you're going to get shot.
07:45 I'm going to keep this up.
07:46 Teran's the kind of guy you bring up to fight him as an opponent in your hometown.
07:47 And the whole room is silent because he's over and controls the center.
07:48, because he's over and controls the space.
08:08 And I'm going to keep this up.
08:22 Take a look at Sanchez in the corner.
08:24 I'm seeing complacency in his face already, but also we saw it in the ring.
08:28 Here we're seeing that hesitancy to throw with any kind of intent because he's afraid
08:32 to miss.
08:33 Teran has been staying at long range, making a miss.
08:35 And like you said, Paulie, tying them up when they do get close.
08:39 Sanchez has not been able to find any kind of offensive momentum.
08:41 Yeah.
08:42 And that's why I said, you know, he should start targeting the body a little bit more.
08:44 It means Teran's done a good job of that.
08:46 But I think Sanchez could also do that.
08:49 And because, you know, you're unsure about hitting the head of an awkward defensive guy
08:53 like Teran.
08:54 So just, you know, aim the right hands at his stomach, at his chest.
08:57 Actually, as a matter of fact, Teran's doing a good job of doing that both with his jab
09:01 and his straight left hand.
09:02 You know, they throw a loopy shot like that.
09:05 You're out of distance.
09:06 Why are you throwing loopy shots to the body?
09:08 Just throw it straight.
09:13 Seems as if Teran has not been in full attack mode, but he has at least done enough to keep
09:18 Sanchez from finding his groove, guys.
09:21 Yeah, for sure.
09:22 I mean, he's stemming the tide of Sanchez, who really hasn't been doing much work anyway.
09:27 But he's letting Teran dictate the pace of the fight.
09:32 And that's not Sanchez's style at all.
09:35 Yeah, look, Teran touches upstairs, touches downstairs.
09:37 You know, defensively responsible there as he catches that attempted right on the glove.
09:42 Then gets right back on putting Sanchez on the back foot.
09:45 He just backed Sanchez up without throwing a hard jab.
09:47 He pawed him and walked him and doing it again.
09:50 He's pawing with the lead hand and Sanchez is backing straight out.
09:53 And that's something that I had mentioned to you guys earlier.
09:56 Teran likes to stand just out of range, then follow his opponent's punches and find that
10:01 opportunity.
10:02 So he's just out of range.
10:04 He also has a significant reach advantage, Paulie, in this fight.
10:08 And he's doing a nice job of utilizing it.
10:10 Yeah, yeah.
10:11 He's picking his moments well.
10:12 Sanchez has gotten inside a little bit this round, but you can see he's giving it an effort,
10:17 but he's got to give it an intelligent effort.
10:19 You know, he's kind of flying in sometimes.
10:21 I think they've even had a couple of clashes of heads this round.
10:23 So he's got to be careful, but he's also got to try to force his way in through some deception.
10:27 There he used a feint at least on the way in.
10:29 So at least he's thinking.
10:30 And he straightened out the right hand.
10:31 It just missed, but it was at least the right idea.
10:34 Yeah, it was the right idea and almost came close.
10:37 Everything else has been whiff and error.
10:39 We said at the very top of the show, Chris, that Teran's inactivity is a bit of a concern.
10:46 Which version will we see tonight?
10:48 Will we see that same crafty southpaw in this intriguing fight at a crossroads for both
10:54 men and so far so good for Alexander Duran, who last fought 11 and a half months ago,
11:02 but fought just once that fight in the last three and a half years.
11:06 Yeah, I had seen Duran, but he was fighting a very low level opponent, but I saw the craftiness.
11:11 I was wondering if he was going to be able to do it with a higher level opponent like
11:14 we see in Sanchez.
11:15 And literally, this is exactly what I saw in that fight.
11:18 So his ability to carry it up with competition is there.
11:25 Final 15 seconds, round number three, main event of the evening.
11:30 My powerful partners, the former two-time world champion, the magic man, Paulie Malignaggi,
11:34 former world champion, Chris Algieri, Mike Goldberg here on Pro Box TV.
11:43 You see, he's trying to find that distance, but you see he's throwing that loopy shot
12:11 from to the stomach instead of trying to throw it straight.
12:13 Duran just simply steps back and then as he steps in, throws a nice left hand to the stomach
12:17 himself while being able to slip the counter of Sanchez.
12:21 More range on the part of Duran.
12:22 If you're going to fight at range, you're going to give Duran the advantage.
12:25 Again, it's imperative if this is going to be competitive that Sanchez starts to adjust
12:29 that range.
12:30 In the fighter meetings yesterday, Claudia Trejo has asked Alexander Duran, "You're taking
12:38 on a Mexican fighter known for being hard hitting brawlers.
12:41 Did he work on anything to withstand that attack?"
12:46 I don't know, guys, if he gave Claudia a definitive answer, but what he has done is utilize that
12:53 distance, Paulie, to make sure that that Mexican style of boxing has not been utilized yet.
12:58 Yeah, it hasn't been utilized and Sanchez honestly hasn't worked on the various ways
13:03 he should have worked on to close the gap against such a crafty guy.
13:06 Yeah, I mean, Duran, he hasn't really been hit with anything flush yet, so in terms of
13:11 preparing for heavy shots, he hasn't needed to.
13:14 He's prepared by using his skills and craftiness and solid defense to completely thwart any
13:20 of Sanchez's offense.
13:22 Pre-fight, Duran said he has really been working diligently on his speed, explosiveness, and
13:32 strength.
13:33 Sanchez said strength and conditioning has been a big factor in preparing for this main
13:38 event on a Wednesday night on Pro Box TV.
13:40 Over 300 rounds of sparring.
13:43 Yikes.
13:44 That's a lot of sparring.
13:47 Yeah, that makes me sore just talking about it.
13:50 I don't know if I'd believe that, though.
13:51 He told us he was training for six weeks, which is actually kind of physically impossible
13:55 to train for sparring in six weeks.
13:57 That's pretty much all you did then.
13:59 I think they were 12 second rounds, but they're 300.
14:05 Sanchez will turn 28 years old on the 14th of this month, looking to become the first
14:11 fighter to defeat Panama City's Alexander Duran.
14:14 And already Duran's instinct when Sanchez tries to close the gap is he usually steps
14:20 back, right?
14:21 So you already know you're going to get him stepping back.
14:22 So you've got to try to maybe start to step a little bit, make that false move back as
14:27 you close that gap and then make him pay on the step back when he's maybe in a half defensive
14:32 lap.
14:33 Because Duran doesn't always counter you when he steps back.
14:34 A lot of times he counters you.
14:35 He may counter you at times, but you see right there he's looking for the counter.
14:39 Sometimes he'll step back and not counter.
14:41 So you've got to maybe draw that step back and then try to follow in an aggressive manner
14:47 to try to make him pay.
14:48 And also those counters when Duran does throw them, they're not sharp.
14:51 They're coming loopy.
14:52 They're a little bit wide.
14:53 They're missing at times.
14:54 But Sanchez could counter the counter and just beat him to it because those punches
14:57 are coming long.
14:58 >> 45 seconds, round number four.
15:01 And our keys to victory, Chris, you had talked about Duran utilizing his height, length and
15:07 that southpaw jab to keep a measured pace.
15:11 And he's done exactly that.
15:12 >> I mean, at this pace, hey, he don't even need to be in good shape.
15:15 I don't care how many rounds he needed to do.
15:18 He's cruising right now.
15:19 >> We were talking about the high altitude.
15:22 It's going to have an effect here at this pace.
15:25 >> Well, it was interesting because Sanchez is from Baja, California.
15:29 And he just got to Mexico City, yet he said he was ready to take advantage of the altitude.
15:37 Claudia tried to figure out the math on what the highest mountain might be.
15:41 It wasn't -- yeah, in Baja, California, it wasn't 7,350.
15:45 >> That was a curious conversation piece that we had in the fighter meeting.
15:53 That could be why Sanchez is looking so listless thus far.
15:56 So that's a great point.
15:57 >> He's got a lot of energy.
15:58 He's got a lot of energy.
15:59 He's got a lot of energy.
16:00 He's got a lot of energy.
16:01 He's got a lot of energy.
16:02 He's got a lot of energy.
16:03 He's got a lot of energy.
16:04 He's got a lot of energy.
16:05 He's got a lot of energy.
16:06 He's got a lot of energy.
16:07 He's got a lot of energy.
16:08 He's got a lot of energy.
16:09 He's got a lot of energy.
16:10 He's got a lot of energy.
16:11 He's got a lot of energy.
16:12 He's got a lot of energy.
16:13 He's got a lot of energy.
16:14 He's got a lot of energy.
16:15 He's got a lot of energy.
16:16 He's got a lot of energy.
16:17 He's got a lot of energy.
16:18 He's got a lot of energy.
16:19 He's got a lot of energy.
16:20 He's got a lot of energy.
16:21 He's got a lot of energy.
16:22 He's got a lot of energy.
16:23 He's got a lot of energy.
16:24 He's got a lot of energy.
16:25 He's got a lot of energy.
16:26 He's got a lot of energy.
16:27 He's got a lot of energy.
16:28 He's got a lot of energy.
16:29 He's got a lot of energy.
16:30 He's got a lot of energy.
16:31 He's got a lot of energy.
16:32 He's got a lot of energy.
16:33 He's got a lot of energy.
16:34 He's got a lot of energy.
16:35 He's got a lot of energy.
16:36 He's got a lot of energy.
16:37 He's got a lot of energy.
16:38 He's got a lot of energy.
16:39 He's got a lot of energy.
16:40 He's got a lot of energy.
16:41 He's got a lot of energy.
16:42 He's got a lot of energy.
16:43 He's got a lot of energy.
16:44 He's got a lot of energy.
16:45 He's got a lot of energy.
16:46 He's got a lot of energy.
16:47 He's got a lot of energy.
16:48 He's got a lot of energy.
16:49 He's got a lot of energy.
16:50 He's got a lot of energy.
16:51 He's got a lot of energy.
16:52 He's got a lot of energy.
16:53 He's got a lot of energy.
16:54 He's got a lot of energy.
16:55 He's got a lot of energy.
16:56 He's got a lot of energy.
16:57 He's got a lot of energy.
16:59 And Goldtrunk, scorecards thus far, Chris.
17:01 I got a shutout for Duran.
17:03 I mean, it's...Sanchez hasn't really done enough.
17:07 Offensively, he's been getting controlled in the ring, so...
17:11 Paul, yous agree?
17:13 Yeah, I mean, now Sanchez starting to complain.
17:15 I mean, he's not making the fight.
17:17 I mean, he's the one at home.
17:18 The responsibility's on his shoulders to try to at least perform.
17:21 You know, you gotta...
17:22 Yes, they burned in a stink in Southpaw as the opponent,
17:25 but you gotta give it the effort here.
17:27 Easy 3-0, 4-0 for Duran so far.
17:30 I always wonder why guys who are punchers, like a Sanchez,
17:33 why they don't just hit every part of the body.
17:35 Hey, Paul, you weren't a puncher.
17:37 I wasn't a puncher.
17:38 But, like, bang a guy on his arms, bang a guy on his elbows,
17:41 hit his shoulders, hit his hip, hit whatever.
17:43 He's not trying to make contact with anything other than landing on his head.
17:48 Even the referee's getting tired of it.
17:49 He's ready to go.
17:50 We're in Mexico here, guys.
17:51 You gotta fight.
17:52 We just had two great fights back-to-back, and now...
17:56 And now Panama's coming in to steal the show.
17:58 Big swing and a miss.
18:00 For the Southpaw.
18:03 You know, when even the referee's gotta tell you to get in the fight,
18:06 you don't think you're getting bent.
18:07 Duran loves this.
18:10 Okay, I'll just keep taking these rounds and put them in the bank.
18:14 Duran won the IBF Latino Super Lightweight title back in May of 2018.
18:23 In November of that same year, he won the IBA World Super Lightweight title.
18:29 You know, you saw Sanchez finally give it a little bit of the effort.
18:33 He threw some punches and punches.
18:34 And you see, it made Duran a little bit uncomfortable.
18:36 You gotta get back on that.
18:37 But Duran will try to smother here at close range.
18:40 And why is he stepping all the way back like that?
18:42 You see what I'm saying?
18:43 You broke yourself.
18:44 Why did he go all the way back?
18:45 You could've took a half step back and then fired right away.
18:47 This is what I'm talking about when a guy like Sanchez takes away his own advantages.
18:51 And that is exactly what led to his success in that one loss against Sanchez.
18:57 Pedro Campo was able to back him up.
19:00 Yeah, you can see he's very uncomfortable going backwards.
19:03 He throws punches with big hesitancy.
19:05 No power behind him.
19:06 And as Paulie was saying, he just throws himself out of position when he's moving backwards.
19:12 I mean, there, it wasn't like the referees broke you.
19:19 You broke yourself, so you don't have to break yourself to that distance.
19:23 Especially when you're the one who needs to be in close range.
19:26 Duran's starting to try that counter uppercut there.
19:30 Yeah, I was gonna say.
19:31 Trying to sneak it in, Paulie, eh?
19:32 Yeah, that uppercut on the way in for Sanchez.
19:34 And he just has to be careful again.
19:35 Another reason why it's imperative to use the feint on the way in.
19:37 Because Duran is not gonna time you with that uppercut now.
19:41 [Chanting in Spanish]
19:43 I mean, if this continues like this, this is gonna be one of those fights where
19:52 Sanchez is gonna lose every round.
19:53 He's not even gonna get beat up.
19:54 And tomorrow he's gonna wonder, you know,
19:56 "We should have just done it better," you know?
19:58 I suppose he is not staying true, Chris, to your keys to victory for the Shark, Carlos Sanchez.
20:06 Yeah, I mean, so the idea was to close the gap.
20:09 He's not doing that at all.
20:10 And like Paulie had said, he's jumping backwards.
20:12 You know, you sweeping right hands, I mean, he is.
20:14 But he's doing it from the wrong distance.
20:16 He's not getting close enough to land those punches by any means.
20:18 He's gotta touch the body first, then throw it.
20:20 And then let your power punch in.
20:22 I haven't seen a combination yet for Sanchez.
20:24 Mostly because he has not tried to force the issue, close the gap,
20:27 to get in position to throw those punches.
20:29 I pointed out your key number one with that measured pace, the length, the southpaw jab.
20:34 How about the rest of your keys?
20:36 I mean, the height and length, obviously, he's been using great.
20:38 I haven't seen any work to the body.
20:40 He might do that as the finals go on, but he doesn't really need to.
20:43 Changing levels, he's been doing fantastically.
20:45 He's throwing that straight left hand to the pit of the stomach.
20:47 He's jabbing high, throwing the left hand low.
20:49 So the changing levels he's been doing just hasn't thrown much body work in terms of hooks yet.
20:53 Yeah, that's the thing.
20:54 He's gotten to the body, just not with the hooks, Jim.
20:56 The straight left hand has actually been pretty effective.
20:58 Past the midway point of our main event of the evening.
21:02 You have a shutout still, Chris?
21:04 Yep.
21:05 Five rounds on the bank for Duren.
21:06 Five rounds on the bank for Duren.
21:09 Oh, good straight left hand.
21:11 Yeah, look at the body language change.
21:14 See now, Duren got lower.
21:16 There's the body shot.
21:17 There it is.
21:18 Good call, Chris.
21:19 Right on cue.
21:20 Yeah, he's going on attack mode now.
21:23 I had seen this in prior fights.
21:25 Once he gets comfortable boxing and feels like he can be aggressive and offensive, he'll do it.
21:29 Yeah, he's looking to step in a little bit more to Sanchez this round.
21:34 Maybe he's starting to realize that maybe psychologically he's taking the advantage completely away from Sanchez.
21:40 Now it's time to physically impose himself.
21:42 And you guys both talked about the consistent and very disciplined pace that Duren has utilized.
21:50 Thus, his gas tank has been much steadier than Carlos Sanchez.
21:55 And it puzzles me a little bit.
21:57 If you're from Mexico and you have a main event in Mexico City, why you would come in the night before and not get yourself adjusted,
22:06 this may play against him as it gets deeper and deeper because he certainly has taken punishment and has slowed down.
22:13 Yeah, there's a lot of puzzling choices.
22:15 Right now I'm wondering why Sanchez is just walking into clenches every time.
22:19 He's not coming in punching.
22:21 And the referee is going to tell him again, "You need to fight."
22:23 What's going on?
22:25 What is it?
22:27 The ref is asking if we should be doing this anymore.
22:29 Should we just stop?
22:30 You got to love Mexico, dude.
22:32 You wouldn't see this anywhere else.
22:34 This is not the worst fight I've seen.
22:36 I've seen worse fights than this in Vegas in my work.
22:40 But this is not the one.
22:41 But you got to love it that in Mexico, the referee is going to bring you over to the commissioner and say,
22:45 "Bro, just tell these guys that if they don't stop fighting, neither of them are getting paid."
22:50 And the Hall of Famer, Juan Manuel Marquez, one of our founding partners,
22:55 giving him that little bit of a look too, like, "Come on, boys.
22:57 We put you in the main event.
22:59 Let's show the crowd what you have."
23:01 And so far it's been Duran doing everything that he has wanted.
23:05 There has been three straight walking clenches from Sanchez.
23:08 Yeah, and right before that, before they went to the commissioner, he had done it a few times in a row too.
23:13 Duran's actually trying to fight now.
23:14 He's standing and trying to walk Sanchez down.
23:16 Sanchez is just stepping in and hugging.
23:18 23 wins, 19 finishes for Carlos Sanchez.
23:22 Duran, 21 wins, 7 finishes.
23:25 But remember, guys, I mentioned there's been a power increase.
23:28 Five of his 7 finishes have come in the last 7 fights.
23:34 Yeah, he definitely doesn't look like a power punch.
23:36 If he looks like a physically strong guy, he's definitely big for the weight class.
23:39 And he's been able to control Sanchez with those straight left hands that have hit his stomach.
23:44 He's been able to tie him up, which has to do with physical strength.
23:46 Good body shot.
23:48 And a head butt too.
23:49 That's a combination.
23:50 The old one-two, body shot, head butt.
23:51 We've seen a lot of that tonight, with body shot, head butt combinations,
23:54 or combinations with a head butt at the end or in.
23:58 So would that be like a one-seven or a one-eight?
24:01 Seven, that's a good thing.
24:02 If it was left way, it would be one-nine.
24:04 Right.
24:05 Yeah.
24:06 Might be a cut from a head butt.
24:08 We'll see.
24:09 We had one fight stop, unfortunately, because of that.
24:12 The referee, the way he's looking at these guys, you might tell him, "Doc, listen, Doc,
24:15 do everybody a favor and stop it, all right?"
24:18 That looks like it might be--
24:21 Honestly, though, I think he's hurt to the body.
24:23 He got hit with a really good body shot as he got head butted.
24:25 He grimaced, and he kind of bent slumped over a little bit with that.
24:30 So the break here actually benefits him in case they do go back out to fight.
24:33 But I don't know.
24:34 He looks uncomfortable.
24:35 Like he kind of wants the referee to call the fight.
24:37 Yep, they are going to call it.
24:40 And it's his brother-in-law who is in the corner with him, but that cut is in a very
24:45 dangerous place.
24:47 I mean, if you're Sanchez, you should be arguing for no stoppage of the head butt.
24:51 And the head butt punch.
24:52 And the head butt.
24:53 That was a--
24:54 See, he's getting a little action right there from the body shot.
24:56 That was a good body shot.
24:57 You don't bend over like that from a head butt.
24:59 That's a delayed reaction from a liver shot.
25:01 You turn around with the head butt.
25:03 The head butt makes you turn around.
25:05 And he realizes he's hurt to the body.
25:07 He's like, "Let me complain to my dad so I get a break because his body shot hurt."
25:09 Yeah, that was a nice nasty little body shot.
25:13 It ripped it.
25:14 Yeah.
25:15 I was trying to say it's cut across too.
25:17 Those ripping body shots really hurt.
25:19 You get all knuckle on that.
25:20 Yeah.
25:21 And they kind of swipe at you until they go in.
25:23 And that cut doesn't look that bad.
25:25 Yeah.
25:26 And just like you were talking about, Goldie, that one's above the eyebrow, which is less
25:31 dangerous than the one that's over the eye.
25:33 And honestly, if you're Sanchez, you should be arguing to let the fight continue.
25:36 There's no way you can think you're winning this fight.
25:38 So he's actually content to get out of it with a loss here.
25:41 So Alexander Duran will move to 22 and 0, we believe.
25:49 If indeed we are in a foreign country.
25:51 Yes.
25:52 Let's see.
25:53 Let's say again.
25:57 One would assume.
25:58 In boxing, one can never assume.
26:02 And we know what they say about assuming.
26:04 On paper, this wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing fight, but on paper, this was a great
26:11 win for Duran.
26:12 We found him out for the first time, takes on a solid record guy and dominates the fight.
26:19 Let's take it from the first bell.
26:23 We're going to start at four since this was such an uneventful fight.
26:29 But Duran controlled the fight most of the night.
26:34 You see some semblance of action here.
26:37 But overall, this was a fight where even the referee had to get involved and tell him to
26:42 start fighting.
26:44 A little bit of awkwardness between the lefty and righty.
26:48 Combination there, clashes of heads.
26:50 Yeah, a lot of awkward interactions between these two.
26:53 I'll give the truck here some real credit.
26:56 They found some good action.
26:58 Yeah, they found the action.
26:59 They found the action.
27:00 They found the action in this fight.
27:01 They found the action.
27:02 There's that clash of heads combined with the body shot.
27:04 It was actually a really good body shot.
27:05 Duran landed in that exchange.
27:07 But it gets kind of lost because there was also a headbutt and that's what causes the
27:10 stoppage.
27:11 And we're going to go to the scorecards.
27:12 And unfortunately, the fight got ended because I had said that Duran was actually a good
27:15 body puncher and he started to do it in the second half of the fight and then the fight
27:18 ended.
27:23 First time that he has left Panama to fight.
27:29 Second fight in about four years.
27:33 Official decision is in.
27:34 Once again, Pablo Flores.
27:47 Ladies and gentlemen, an accidental headbutt prevents the red corner to continue.
27:54 Therefore, we will have a technical decision.
27:57 The judge, El Juez, Gelacio Perez scored the bout 60 to 56.
28:13 And judges, Humberto Olivares and Hector Mendiola had the same scores, 58 to 56.
28:19 For your winner by the way of technical decision.
28:28 Team Zona Norte, Tijuana, Baja California.
28:33 Carlos "Shiburon" Sanchez.
28:37 Wow.
28:43 Wow.
28:44 Is absolutely correct.
28:47 And also, recognition for his rival from Panama, Alexander "Duran" Zuniga.
28:56 You guys did say some crazy things have happened in this sport before.
29:00 He doesn't even look like he knows he won.
29:02 He thinks he won.
29:03 That's, wow.
29:05 That's a shame.
