00:00 Michael DeJesus, 6 rounds, 6 asaltos.
00:04 All right, guys, we'll talk to you in the locker room
00:06 and in the corner. You know what I expect.
00:07 Touch the wall if you want to.
00:08 If not, go back to your corner.
00:10 We thank all of our military
00:15 who keep us safe every single day.
00:18 Freedom is not free.
00:19 All the military in attendance, we agree with you, Marcus.
00:21 A big shout-out and a sincere thank you.
00:25 Here we go. It's time to fight.
00:27 Marcus Valle, navy, blue, and white trunks,
00:31 black and red with a big old Arkansas logo
00:34 on the leg for Demarcus Layton.
00:37 Ooh.
00:38 Hook with a hook up.
00:39 Left hook over the top.
00:41 Does that right hand tend to drop a little bit on Valle?
00:44 [crowd shouting]
00:47 Oh, there it is again with the left hook.
00:50 Eight wins for Layton.
00:52 Five finishes amongst those eight wins.
00:55 And one thing Layton did say in the fighter meeting,
00:58 the left hook was his punch of choice.
01:00 Yes.
01:01 There it is again.
01:03 He said he had a good five-week camp,
01:06 looking to return to his winning ways,
01:09 and he is off to a good start.
01:12 He got buzzed with a right hand on the temple.
01:14 I'll tell you what, he came out kamikaze,
01:17 made it entertaining, but now he got himself hurt
01:19 because of the kamikaze style.
01:20 Well, champ, kamikazes don't tend to live.
01:22 [laughing]
01:23 I guess that's the point, right?
01:25 And now Valle teeing off.
01:27 Oh.
01:30 Just a minute and ten seconds into round one.
01:35 And this is the worst,
01:36 when you're trying to survive against Valle,
01:38 he's just not letting you off the hook.
01:39 Yeah, you said the word "suffocating" at the open.
01:42 Yeah, that's exactly what Valle does,
01:44 especially if you're spending some time on the ropes,
01:46 the way Clayton Layton is right now.
01:48 And Layton almost had no choice but to go to the ropes
01:50 once he got hurt.
01:51 Started out with that kamikaze style.
01:54 Good action, but now seems to be trying to clear cobwebs
01:57 a little bit and starting to fight back.
01:58 But let's see if it has now affected
02:00 his mentality going forward.
02:01 You know, Layton, he throws some tricky shots in between there.
02:03 He threw a nice little shuffle punch right down the middle
02:06 to the solar plexus of Valle.
02:07 He's been throwing good body shots in between,
02:09 and he's got a very nice left hook to the head.
02:11 Double uppercut by Valle over the top.
02:16 Good counter by Layton.
02:18 And although Layton is tall and long,
02:20 he doesn't know any of the way.
02:21 I've watched a bunch of his fights.
02:22 This is how he fights.
02:23 He's a fighter.
02:24 He doesn't want to sit there and box to stay on the outside.
02:26 He wants to exchange.
02:27 Yeah, I like him, man.
02:28 You're going to make your earn it.
02:29 Repeat body shots there.
02:30 He's hurt again.
02:31 He's hurt bad.
02:32 Now his legs are wobbling.
02:35 Valle just pouring on the pressure.
02:38 Layton said, people sleep on me.
02:41 I am here to wake everybody up.
02:43 Right now, Marcus Valle is trying to put them to sleep.
02:46 Suffocating.
02:46 And a couple more big shots in it.
02:48 Yeah, it is.
02:49 Oh, look it.
02:50 I would have--
02:50 Yeah, he was punching back, man.
02:51 Look at that.
02:52 Man, oh, man.
02:53 I don't know, man.
02:54 He was punching back.
02:55 Look at how he steps in.
02:58 I would like to see these referees at least
02:59 talk to the guy.
03:00 I've seen referees say, hey, show me something.
03:02 Do something.
03:03 I mean, come on, man.
03:04 The guy has to at least be given a chance to recover.
03:06 He's got his hands up.
03:07 He has shots again through.
03:09 I mean, listen.
03:10 Layton wouldn't have wanted to fight, but there's
03:12 people paying for tickets.
03:13 Let them get entertained.
03:14 Let Valle get the rounds in.
03:16 Even a couple of rounds ago, I had a problem
03:17 with the DQ Valle won by.
03:20 I thought they could have let that continue
03:22 a little bit longer.
03:24 I know Valle's a Florida guy, so maybe the commission's
03:26 just trying to favor him a little bit.
03:27 I don't know, man.
03:28 But he would have won this fight anyway.
03:30 Let the kid get experience.
03:32 Yeah, Layton was definitely hurt, but he was still
03:34 throwing punches.
03:35 It's just he's firing back.
03:37 He's stopping it.
03:38 The guy just got buzzed.
03:39 Give him a second to be able to recover.
03:41 You want him to fight back while he's recovering too?
03:43 Come on, man.
03:44 That's how he will get hurt.
03:46 I'm going to trademark my instant replay idea, Chris.
03:50 I don't know how you do it in boxing in that situation,
03:52 but we're going to go to control central.
03:54 I'll call my guy.
03:55 Layton hardly got a good stop.
03:56 I'll call my guy and get the paperwork
03:58 filled out for you.
03:59 This thing was entertaining, man, the whole time.
04:01 Yeah, this was a great fight.
04:02 These guys are going back and forth.
04:03 I mean, Layton landed some really good shots.
04:05 He found the openings on Valle, but Valle, man,
04:08 that constant pressure--
04:09 Yeah, listen.
04:10 --started pulling him back.
04:11 He's got a lot of energy.
04:12 He's got a lot of energy.
04:13 He's got a lot of energy.
04:14 He's got a lot of energy.
04:15 He's got a lot of energy.
04:16 Listen.
04:17 Started pouring it on, especially
04:18 when he had his man hurt.
04:19 Valle's superior. I get it.
04:20 You know what?
04:21 But Layton's also earning his check.
04:22 He's fighting, and he's giving Valle the work that Valle
04:25 needs to keep maturing.
04:28 Here's his way in.
04:29 This is what I call forcing the stoppage.
04:31 And yeah, a lot of those punches were not getting through.
04:33 And it's literally, as soon as he punched back,
04:35 the referee stepped in.
04:38 Yeah, see, a lot of those punches
04:39 aren't really getting through.
04:40 And don't get me wrong.
04:41 Layton was hurt.
04:42 And that's what I'm saying.
04:43 Yeah, he was hurt.
04:44 And that's how they get themselves
04:45 knocked out badly.
04:46 You know, you got to give the guy a chance
04:48 to at least get himself back into it, man.
04:51 And look, as soon as he throws a punch--
04:52 Yeah.
04:54 And it was like Valle was putting a lot of mustard
04:55 on those shots.
04:56 He was trying to open up the glove itself.
04:57 Forcing the stoppage.
04:59 A lot of times, when you got a guy who's hurt like that,
05:01 and you want the ref to step in, you just let your hands go.
05:03 You don't have to load up on the biggest shots.
05:05 I think if you want to make the argument,
05:07 or you want to break it down, as we get set for our main event
05:11 of the evening, Otar Aronosian and Eddie Valencia.
05:15 To Marcus Layton, Chris, it already kind of weathered
05:18 what seemed to be a big storm.
05:20 And then a small bit of rain came in, and they stopped it.
05:22 Dude, let me tell you, Valle's a really good prospect.
05:25 But he only had 40, 50 amateur fights.
05:26 All of this is experience that he's losing out himself.
05:29 You're costing-- you think you're doing him a favor
05:30 doing this?
05:31 He's going to win these fights anyway.
05:32 Let the kid get his rounds, man.
05:34 You know what I'm saying?
05:35 Like, let him get a chance to keep improving.
05:37 He's got really good-- he's a really good fighter.
05:39 Let him keep improving.
05:40 To make it official, Pablo Flores.
05:42 Ladies and gentlemen, this topic comes with a time
05:49 of 2 minutes, 30 seconds in the opening round.
