00:00 It looked like a goldy, kind of coppery,
00:02 ends up to be dark, smoky eye in the corners,
00:04 like a kind of pulled out, smoky eye.
00:05 So we're gonna start a little bit, do this all over here.
00:09 - So you lay down the lightest shade first?
00:10 - Exactly.
00:11 - So what I'm going to start doing
00:12 is sectioning small pieces over here,
00:13 and with the one inch barrel curling iron,
00:17 just wrap the curling iron around the hair.
00:18 - So now I'm just gonna blend all the colors together.
00:21 So now I'm gonna go in with the darker colors.
00:23 So we're really gonna get that beautiful, dark, smoky eye.
00:25 This is just our base.
00:27 Then I'm just gonna use right in a crease here.
00:29 This is where I feel like I always get stuck
00:31 on my smoky eye, the little V at the outer corner.
00:34 - How, what, please tell me your secret.
00:36 - Well, you know, you just,
00:37 I like to just get the brush right in there.
00:39 And so you kind of get your placement down,
00:40 and then you just kind of push it, pull it back and forth.
00:42 - So kind of like, can I see the PO?
00:43 So kind of like, going like this?
00:44 - Yes, and then you just, you kind of,
00:45 I like to lay it flat first so you can get the placement,
00:47 and then exactly, you just pull it back and forth, yep.
00:49 - And you go here at all, or?
00:50 - Well, we definitely are on this look.
00:52 What we're gonna do for that is use a pencil,
00:54 'cause it was a really nice, dark line.
00:56 So right now, we're just getting our colors in
00:58 so we can get that beautiful, beautiful color.
01:00 So also what I really like to do is,
01:01 I like to use a kind of powder puff
01:02 so I don't really kind of lay my finger on your face.
01:05 I feel like it's a little more gentle,
01:06 kind of in the application process.
01:08 - So as I'm wrapping the hair around the barrel,
01:10 and I let it, you know, just let it sit
01:12 for maybe about like five seconds,
01:14 and instead of just totally dropping it--
01:15 - Right, I saw that, and I was like--
01:16 - I just hold it so it cools a little bit.
01:18 - Your most important time for setting your hair
01:20 is as it's cooling, right?
01:21 - Correct.
01:22 - So I'm just blending, blending, blending.
01:23 A blending brush is your best friend.
01:25 What I'm gonna do now is I'm gonna do a little bit
01:26 of a gel, black gel liner.
01:29 So I'm gonna use this Laura Mercier angled brush.
01:31 What we're gonna do is,
01:33 just gonna lay it flat right there.
01:35 We're just gonna pull it out.
01:36 - So what I'm doing here now is just pulling the hair
01:38 a little bit forward to the forehead.
01:40 See how I'm manipulating it gently with my finger?
01:43 Just to like form the curls a little bit.
01:46 So now to make the wave a little bit more pronounced,
01:48 what I normally do is use two fingers.
01:50 First, kind of like maneuver the hair
01:51 to where I would like for it to fall,
01:53 and then just flipping it,
01:54 just right where the density is.
01:56 Then spraying it with some hairspray.
01:58 - Yeah.
01:59 - Set it and forget it.
01:59 (laughing)
02:00 - Next, I'm gonna curl.
02:02 I'm gonna have Sophie curl her eyelashes for me.
02:04 So Sophie, just get right into the root
02:06 and really curl that lash.
02:07 You can even do it twice.
02:08 So now I'm going to put just a couple of lashes on Sophie.
02:11 I'm just gonna put them on the corners here.
02:12 I'm just gonna use these.
02:13 It's kind of clumped together,
02:14 so it's about three lashes together.
02:15 So it kind of gives it a really natural look.
02:18 So the important thing with lashes
02:19 is you wanna keep them longest to shortest.
02:21 So what I'm doing is it's putting the glue on the lashes
02:23 and just kind of give it a minute to get sticky.
02:25 You want to let that dry, and then I'm going to put some mascara on for you.
