The first album by The Gits was an album full of energy, the punky-grungy fury of the front women Mia Zapata (who lost her life just less than one year later after being beaten, and raped) was the album's engine. The andrenalinic charge of "Frenching the bully" punk rock owes much of its strength to Mia Zapata's angry voice, a succession of excited and feverish anthems, hardcore fury mixed with brute disruption, raw intesity, with beautiful vocals and lyrics about depression and politics, with powerful guitars and drums accompanied with deep bass.
